Let us just calm down!
Let us all join hands and call for the love of the Savior to come to our aid, and learn to love one another!
That is the message I just received after I took the aluminum (or as the Brits like it, alumunium) cap off of my head in a fit of psychosis instilled in me by the lame stream media!
I am called to behave as if I live in a sane world; as if 'the other side' has something to contribute; as if republicans give one goddamn about this country!
Normally, we are just confronted with straight-out hypocrisy.
Hatch attempts to tell us that he believes the poor are all failures! And he wishes to tax them more to boot! And all Hatch is doing as senility over takes over his aged body is attempt to hold onto power!
The top 10 percent are paying 70 percent of all income taxes. The top 50 percent pay something like 98 percent of all income taxes. Fifty-one percent don't pay anything," Hatch said.
"Democrats say they [the 51 percent] pay payroll taxes. Well, everybody does that because that's Social Security. They pay about one-third of what they're going to take out over the years in Social Security," Hatch said. "Obamacare -- a family of four earning over $80,000 a year -- gets subsidies. Think about that. That's what we call the poor?"...
On Thursday, Hatch voted against a motion to begin debate on a measure that would have declared the rich should share the pain of debt reduction, the Huffington Post reports. Htpmdc
Hypocrisy can take on the tone of almost pure cynicism as we witness the king of governmental austerity, Paul Ryan explain away a thousand dollar lunch with a couple of lobbyists.
The banter at this rich lunch table included Ryan's line that liberals are fools who feel that just because you have a million bucks you must have done something wrong
"I didn't order - they ordered," Ryan told TPM. "I had one glass, uh, with my water, and when [Feinberg] was talking about how expensive it was, I didn't even know [the price]."
Ryan said his two "friends" are economists, not lobbyists, but would not give their names to TPM. He said one of the men is an economist "he reads a lot" and the two have conversed before so he invited him to Washington so they could meet. htpmdc
Oh sure, his friends were economists and not lobbyists. I would like to know how his friends make a living as economists, where their weekly checks come from, if their sponsors are involved in lobbying activities....
I would also like an investigation as to any connection between Ryan's sponsored legislation that might relate to the well being of these 'economists' and their employers!
If the witness to this dalliance had not confronted Ryan on the spot I really wonder if half of the lunch tab would have ended up on his credit card.
If hypocrisy can turn into cynicism, it certainly can also turn into pure graft.
Eric Cantor actually has become involved in a gambling scam. That is, Eric bet that our economy would tank. And his bet was not some small side bet at Caesar's; he invested fifteen thou in this traitorous transaction.
According to his latest financial disclosure statement, which covers the year 2010 and has been publicly available since this spring, Cantor still has up to $15,000 in the same fund. Contacted by Salon this week, Cantor’s office gave no indication that the Virginia Republican, who has played a leading role in the debt ceiling negotiations, has divested himself of these holdings since his last filing. Unless an agreement can be reached, the U.S. could begin defaulting on its debt payments on Aug. 2. If that happens and Cantor is still invested in the fund, the value of his holdings would
skyrocket. "If the debt ceiling isn’t raised, investors would start fleeing U.S. Treasuries,” said Matt Koppenheffer, who writes for the investment website the Motley Fool. “Yields would rise, prices would fall, and the Proshares ETF should do very well. It would spike.”
Cantor’s office claims the investment is simply part of a balanced portfolio.
Cantor not only took the side of Limbaugh who would just hope that Obama fails which means America fails!
Cantor hopes to make money for doing everything within his power to see that Obama and America fails!
But Darrel Issa is the best example of graft and hypocrisy and treachery.
I mean he did everything he could do in order to deprive the real heroes of 9/11/01 any compensation for injuries received in their heroic endeavors.
He did everything he could do to find Valerie Plame guilty of perjury; while the real perjurers walked!
He did everything he could do to defend Blackwater. (And I thought Hessian was a bad sobriquet!)
He did everything he could do to defend Randy (Duke) Cunningham when the former Congressman was caught dead to rights on the dock in front of his goddamn yacht!
This asshole even defends Roger Clemens for chrissakes!
http://www.perrspectives.com/blog/archives/001007.htm
But as to his past felonies, those committed before his rise as a politician; he throws his own blood brother under the bus!
As I pointed out months ago Issa is a crook. He sponsors laws that are targeted to feed government monies into his own investments.
http://dagblog.com/reader-blogs/darrell-issa-issa-crook-9625
Will Issa ever be prosecuted?
Issa is a felon who likes to spend his time accusing others.
Issa runs his committee in an odd manner, even for a Repub House. Democrats are not allowed to make statements during hearings and are not allowed to ask questions of the witnesses; let alone call their own witnesses. Here, and here.
He actually runs his committee hearings like some Gunsmoke rerun; playing actual commercials in between sessions—in direct contravention to House Rules.
How in the hell does he get up every morning and look at himself in the mirror?
This all brings up the ghost of George Carlin.
Following what must have been a painful experience with George McGovern decades ago, the king of stand-up gave up politics all together.
George Carlin says our elections are a ruse! There are a small number of Americans who own everything and control our government; the peasants are simply given the illusion that they have a choice in the matter.
He also would maintain that he had no stake in electoral outcomes.

The illusion of choice!

Oh and every single repub I can think of....rush or beckerhead or savage or bachmann or palin or mcconnell or cantor (cantor for sure) or cornyn or.....listen to this:

See I am addicted to Carlin. I am addicted to his atheistic ghost that still haunts the blogosphere.
But for chrissakes....there are choices to be made in the voting booths across this great nation!
Is there a difference?
You bet your arse there are differences.
Comments
Ryan in the TPM interview on his $700 of French wine, a comment:
Ryan: "I had one glass, uh, with my water, and when [Feinberg] was talking
about how expensive it was, I didn't even know [the price]."
A typical Republican. Ordering something without knowing the price. Like two wars.

Restaurants usually double the store price of a upper tier wine, so the bottle sold for about $175. In addition 2004 was not a good year for wines from Burgundy. 2005 was a better year. The wine was a trap for a sucker.

Effete elites who have no idea what they are into!
I dunno you got me laughing.

A rough rule of thumb is "never" buy the most expensive bottle, you will pay through the nose. If you are buying a bottle for personal consumption, look at the cheapest wine of the types that you like, then pick the one just above that bottle. Generally it's a wine that the management likes and would drink at home. Generally the markup will be about 25% over the cost in a store.

I am sick and tired of these 'winners' having such a lousy opinion of us 'losers'. Do they not realize that without all these 'losers' they would be undefined or just 'average' like everyone else? Or worse. These ungrateful 'winner's should thank their lucky stars each and every day that there is a group of people that allows them to be defined as 'winners'. Instead, they mock us and treat us with scorn. Well, listen up 'winners', we're not going to take it anymore. We 'losers' will no longer allow you to define us and therefore you, yourselves will become undefined as well. You will lose your 'special glow of achievement' and become just another tarnished person of average abilities, no better than anyone else and completely indistinguishable from the teeming millions. Unless we get added Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare benefits and higher taxes on 'winners', then as of today, there will be no 'winners' or 'losers', only Constitutionally mandated generic American citizens.
Take that you former 'winners'

I was just thinking about this; you put it so very well.
Do people understand why so many janitors are called maintenance men?
Because the job has become so damn complicated!
In our 120 unit tower, if a window goes out; Jerry fixes it. He installs a new one. And it is a mixture of plastics and metal and...
If a pipe bursts, he fixes it. If a wall circuit is out, he fixes it.
Oh there are part time residents who come to the rescue with water vacuums etc...for a few extra bucks.
But that is all the funding that is available for this subsidized project.
So some might point to him as being at the bottom of the ladder, but no one works harder or is more clever than Jerry!
People who fix cars have to know about transmissions and water cooling and such but they better have a handle on computer chips! And they better have memorized all the manuals for each and every model they work on!
I would like to see Hatch attempt to keep the freezers full at his local grocery store for a week and make sure they are running correctly!
Screw these peeps, these pols, these millionaire elites. damn!
I have actually heard Wall Streeters talk about how hard they work.
What a frickin joke!

Aint that something?
I was just speaking with Momoe about a blog I wrote last year.
And here I find twenty plus hits on this old blog four years old. hahahahah
Carlin died back in 2008?
The only reason for this comment is my old remembrance of George.
Irony gets to me sometimes I guess?
What the hell was the question again?

See, I told you. You know all these comments on this thread could be written today. It is like nothing has changed in the last 4 years. There is a pent up demand for change that is eventually going to break out. We have had 2 election cycles since this posting. Just food for thought.

This is probably sexist and agist and whatever...
This song came into my head.
I was thinking of you and Oxy...

Now you got me laughing. Silly Old Coot. This is what came to my mind just now. This song came out about 4 years ago. I didn't hear it until last year when I was driving to the farm on Saturday mornings listening to a community radio station and they liked playing this version. each week on that show. She dropped the f word on the version that played on radio but this was the popular one that sold and made Pink a star. I think it is safe to put it here since this is 4 years old. This song is right up your ally.
