Guy could be the next Rush Limbaugh, or someone of his ilk. I cannot believe Rush can continue to be a force, clinging to the culture wars stuff is killing him, so old and tired. Hatred of big government is obviously the way to go, as that will forever be with us as long as there is big government and incompetents working in it (incompetents like there are in any other endeavor, with or without government-like power over lives.) And the equation of Democrats = big government isn't going away very soon; if Bill Clinton couldn't manage to do that, and he tried, I don't know who can.
Everyone should be reminded that "the divide" isn't a new thing; I just checked these stats:
1940 Popular vote Roosevelt 27,313,945 Wilkie 22,347,744
1944 Popular vote Roosevelt 25,612,916 Dewey 22,017,929
