11 shot, 3 dead, 3 critical. 4 dead cops now according to Uk Guardian.
If an AR-15 the bullet is designed to be lethal. With 11 hit it must have been an assault type rapid fire weapon.
Maybe time for the GOP to listen to Obama on banning these weapons. California has banned AR-15's and large magazines for years, and just passed a law on background checks for ammo. It can be done, if Dems are in charge. You do not need an AR-15 to defend your home.

Didn't see the rmrd post. 3 cops dead, 10 shot. will this move the nation to some kind of gun control AND cops to not following the training described in my post. Post -Cops Lives Matter Most of All.
The idea of this training, for cops, by Force Science Institute and a Dr. Lewinski, widely admired in the cop community, is, you, the cop, can be dead in an instant. therefore, just shoot the citizen.
Lewinski will testify for you in court afterwards, for $1000 an hour, along with the local cop union of course, Force Science Institute video:
We are an overarmed nation - way too many guns and a lot of nervous, stressed out, hostile or even psycho people. Cops included.
Suggested rules for cop encounters:
1. Never volunteer any information. Answer the cop questions with as few words as necessary. They like that.
2. Keep your hands where they can see them and follow instructions.
3. If you must own a gun, leave it at home.
by NCD on Thu, 07/07/2016 - 11:59pm
OH NCD!
Jesus help us all!
Exactly what is a police state for chrissakes?
KEEP THE DAMN GUNS AT HOME!
I have these thoughts brought to me by Malcom X and others.
If you have no guns, you have no proper defense.
SHIT.
That is all I got.
by Richard Day on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 12:01am
Defense against what? Cops? If you leave the gun home, you might be OK. That includes toy guns.
You cannot outgun the cop department or the SWAT squad.
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 12:13am
I have a thousand and one thoughts on this subject.
But, as a white guy, I can only advise non-white guys to
KISS THE ASS OF ANY COP ANYWHERE YOU GO.
But I hereby render unto NCD, (as I have many times before) the Dayly line of the Day Award for this here Dagblog Site, given to all of NCD from all of me for this gem:
YOU CANNOT OUTGUN THE COP DEPARTMENT OR THE SWAT SQUAD.
No truer words spoken.
by Richard Day on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 2:11am
Thanks Richard.
Have seen no reports on the recovered, lethal, bullets, or the weapon used.
From witness description of rapid fire 'pop pop pop' it sounds like a big magazine assault weapon, which use a distinctive .223 bullet and have a kill range of 600 yards.
The elephant in the GOP room is, what was the weapon?
If a military assault gun, the inventor of the gun said it was never intended for use by civilians, ( you do not need 30 or 100 rounds sprayed out for 600 yards for self defense)
Would these officers still be alive if the Clinton federal Assault Weapons Ban had not been killed by the GOP in 2005?
Where is the NRA and the GOP on citizens with military weapons turning the streets of a major US city into a war zone?
Will cops have to station snipers on the top of buildings from now on to even walk the streets?
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 10:03am
It's too early to make judgments about who did or why they perpetrated this organized assault. The early reports say they attacked from sniper positions in or on top of buildings and they double-tapped the victims which I think included demonstrators or other civilians.
This was a military style attack in a state not known for many police murders of minorities although they are often as brutal as other police forces. I'm just speculating but this could have been an attempt to incite the police into opening fire on the demonstrators.
by Peter (not verified) on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 1:40am
Peter,, none of us have the file, so to speak.
In Minnesota and Louisiana and thousands of other places over this country, minorities are shot dead by the powers that be.
How many whites?
What do I know?
There is something happening here....
And yet Peter, you have a point or many points actually.
Again, this thing in Dallas is scary.
by Richard Day on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 2:16am
They finally wish to blame Obama for these shootings:
http://mediamatters.org/video/2016/07/08/fox-news-contributor-blames-obama-shooting-police-officers/211440
Damn, if frogs fall like rain to the ground, the event is My President's fault.
by Richard Day on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 11:00am
I don't understand - you just need someone with a gun to stop a killer in a crowd, but here there were all these cops with guns... who can explain?
by PeraclesPlease on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 11:08am
PP, it is easy if you just take a minute to think it through: You just need more people with ever more guns.
Oh, and have the inability to feel shame as you look the families of the murdered in the eye when you send them your "thoughts and prayers."
by CVille Dem on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 11:20am
I think they do it on TV or from lecterns - theeyes are usually too swollenand teary to notice much anyway.

The guns are out there. They exist in great quantities of every type and description. They are a matter of fact that will not go away. There is and for a long time has been a clean distinction between who is allowed to kill with them and do so with impunity and those who can be killed with impunity. NRA-ish as it sounds, it really is people who are doing the killing but only some of the people who have been given license. Can we really be surprised when others simply take license?
We have shown a remarkable ease in ignoring the results all over the world when identifiable groups of people are killed with impunity by other identifiable groups. Right now on Fox News there is a guest saying that there is a war on police in this country as if the police have not been waging a low intensity war for a very long time and have no responsibility for that war erupting openly and big-time and as if we the people don't have any responsibility for those police we organize, train, pay, and otherwise support just like we do the 'police' we station all over the world and so often give the right and the power to kill with impunity. Expect copycat follow-ups. It has begun.

Black Lives Matter groups were involved in peaceful marches in Louisiana, Minnesota, and Texas. They did not call for an armed confrontation. An angry individual with access to firearms decided to act ton his personal desire for revenge. Diamond Reynolds, the woman who recorded the aftermath of the murder of Philando Castile, did not call for revenge. Castile's mother did not call for bloody revenge. When asked what she thought about the shootings in Dallas, Castile's mother noted that she just lost her son.She was not watching television. She had not slept for 48 hours. The march in Minnesota was peaceful.

The March in Baton Rouge was peaceful. Sympathy marches in Atlanta and New York City were peaceful.
Black people realize that the names of the officers involved in the police shootings in Baton Rouge and Falcon Heights were withheld for days. A picture of the wrong black guy went up in the midst of the events in Dallas, leading to death threats against an innocent man. The name of the shooter in Dallas is out now.
People are angry. People are mourning, The only rumblings about a war on police is coming from Fox and some corners of the far far Left.
Edit to add:
Before the shootings, protesters and Dallas law enforcement were getting along

UK Mail online has more on Dallas than our media. One photo there shows about 40 tags on pavement which could be bullet strikes. What guns were used and how many shooters not being reported anywhere. John Lewis & Dems only ones talking about gun control.
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 2:57pm
Conservatives and the GOP represent a clear and present danger to the country, They are stuck with a concept of self defense based on the availability of muskets. The NRA used to support gun control. The NRA is now a subsidiary of gun manufactures and has Congress in its pocket, the will of the people be damned.
by rmrd0000 on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 3:09pm
If this Dallas cop massacre and chaos was caused by just one man, it proves beyond a doubt the need for renewing the assault weapons ban. The weapons of war for legal sale in most states in this country are so lethal that one person can wreak incredible havoc. I don't think the GOP or the NRA want that reality to be faced or even discussed. The MSM will of course oblige them.
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 3:43pm
The New York Post went with the race war nonsense accepted as gospel by the fringes
The paper's headline blared "CIVIL WAR"

The media love disasters and calamities. A smoothly running country would lower their ratings, that's why they worship at the altar of Both Political Parties are Always At Fault.
Neither the MSM nor all the wild incendiary websites so often linked here by some, have any economic or other interest in helping to solve the issues the country faces. Eyeballs and clicks are cash in their pockets.
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 5:57pm
Fox News of course, the station of Dr. Keith Ablow. Celebrity NY psychologist. What other country would have a celebrity like this nutjob?
Blowjob, who said after Biden wiped the floor with pipsqueak Ryan at the VP debate 2012, that Biden might have dementia.
And he recently assured Faux News addicts that Trump really really cares, identifies with and represents what Murica is all about and Murica values.
And the Faux News regulars love it, as that means they do too. A NYT comment from Illinois:
I am continually amazed at the outlandish, bizarre things people I know believe. Or, at least, spout. Much of what emanates from the mouths of my peers here in middle America consists of old wive's tales, ignorance of science in general and the scientific method in particular, bigfoot type hokum, ghost stories, FOX and Rush propaganda, unadorned and unexamined adoration of police and authority, racism and bigotry and hatred of all people not of their tribe. They say things that a moment's logical thought would prove untrue, then bridle and become furiously defensive and abusive if called out.
by NCD on Fri, 07/08/2016 - 11:21am
Richard stay calm. A third of the country is friggin' bonkers. Blacks are included in this group. 1% of blacks support Trump with over 45 million black people in the United States and maybe half of voting age, that's hundreds of thousands. Most blacks realize that there is police abuse and that the legal system is rigged. Hundreds of thousand of blacks do not believe that there is anything wrong. The gentleman on Fox is one of those people. Fox loves to give the black Trump 1% ers air time. Keep in mind this is not the view of the black majority.
The black majority realizes that the NRA will not come to the defense of unarmed people killed by police. The NRA will not come to the defense of black people legally registered to carry a weapon when they are killed by police while reaching for a wallet.
Despite the knowledge that there is police abuse and that the legal system rarely punishes police officers who commit homicide, attacks like the one in Dallas are extremely rare. There was an ambush of NYC cops by a black man with a history of abusing his girlfriend, and there is this.
What should happen is Congressional hearings to at least pretend to address police abuse, disconnection of police from ethnic communities, and gun control. This will not happen because the GOP is in charge. Instead of addressing issues, we will have the GOP refusing to allow appointment of judges. We will also have ongoing hearings about Hillary or other officials in any Democratic administration.
Until we get rid of the reactionaries in Congress, we will be back here again. The Fox folks will always be out to lunch.

Yeah rmrd, I have become lazy again.
Mediamatters shows me what I need to know. hahahaha
I have written about my son's experience.
He has a friend who happens to have ten times his wealth but his friend is stopped all the time and my son is not.
And Sean's friend happens to be Black.
There is no reason for this happenstance, as it were. hahahha
And it aint even funny.
It is just the truth.
