Whitman ...: “Hitler’s American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law.” Whitman illustrates how German propagandists sought to normalize the Nazi racist agenda domestically by putting forth the United States as a model. They assured the German people that Americans had “racist politics and policies,” just as Germany did, including “special laws directed against the Negroes, which limit their voting rights, freedom of movement, and career possibilities.”... new-age white supremacists who want so eagerly to expand their market shares recognize that covering themselves with swastikas is a route to marginalization. They are betting that they can achieve the effect they seek by embracing the Confederate cause, while serving up easy-listening Nazism on the side.

Nuremberg Laws were crafted in an atmosphere of considerable attention to the precedents American race laws had to offer. German praise for American practices, already found in Hitler's Mein Kampf, was continuous throughout the early 1930s, and the most radical Nazi lawyers were eager advocates of the use of American models. But while Jim Crow segregation was one aspect of American law that appealed to Nazi radicals, it was not the most consequential one. Rather, both American citizenship and antimiscegenation laws proved directly relevant to the two principal Nuremberg Laws—the Citizenship Law and the Blood Law.

It is interesting to see Trump surround himself with people like Steve Bannon and Jeff Sessions. We also hear white supremacist Richard Spencer shouting "Russia is our friend" as a Confederate statue came down in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Republican Party sees these things and remains silent.

Interesting ironic twist on the "not our kind" private club phenomenon: zero tolerance for loudly public racists.

the professor told BuzzFeed News on Sunday that she was surprised that the gym decided to terminate Spencer's membership. "I think the gym ultimately made a business decision," she said.

I like this part

Fair also posted photos of the confrontation, saying that Spencer requested the help of one of the black female trainers at the gym. "Seriously? This superior race of a white man needed the help of a female African American? What kind of martial race member is he?" Fair wrote in her post.

It ´s worth also recalling ¨The Ship of Fools¨, not allowed to disembark here its Jewish would-be refugees . That particular decision was enthusiastically directed by Breckenbridge Long. He´s also known for rescuing a deer somehow swimming in Nantucket sound, releasing it on the island, bringing a mate for it and thus singlehandedly sponsoring the creation of a plague of Lyme disease. He was busy.
