Trump at dinner with military commanders cites 'calm before the storm'

While taking photos alongside military leaders and their spouses before a dinner at the White House [....] "You guys know what this represents? Maybe it's the calm before the storm," Trump said at the photo op Thursday night, following a meeting with his top military commanders. When reporters present asked what he meant, Trump replied: "It could be, the calm, the calm before the storm." [....] When asked again what he meant, Trump said only: "You'll find out." Reporters in the room asked for a hint, but Trump concluded the questioning [....]

Ah but I also like this: that it is important not to confuse the problem of a reactionary agenda with the Trump problem:

because he’s a reactionary fantasist, whose policies stir the emotions but are stalled in the headwinds of reality.

Fantasist is a word that hasn't been used enough with him. The fantasies continually spill out of him and the role play to go with them. And this seems to be speeding up over time to a manic state. I dare say this is more accurately where many of us are equating with mental illness, rather than as regards the narcissism.That 's the one that really hit me.

@ WashingtonPost.com, 10/19; they are headlining it right now. I don't know how he fights this 'not caring" branding he's developing with "the troops"themselves. It will be amazing if he manages to turn it around.

Imagine being the father, and having to say you didn't get the promised check, when the donor is the president....
