[....] Murtaja [....] was one of nine people fatally shot on Friday after Israeli troops used live ammunition as tens of thousands of Palestinians gathered to protest at the heavily guarded boundary with Israel.
Five other journalists were injured by live fire, as well, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate. They were clearly identifiable as journalists, the syndicate said, raising further questions over Israel’s insistence that its use of snipers on the crowds at the border is carefully targeted.
The Israeli military said it fired live rounds in a “precise, measured way” as part of its mission to protect Israeli communities near the fence. It said it does not intentionally target journalists and that the circumstances in which the journalists were allegedly hit by Israeli fire were “being looked into.” Ahmed Murtaja, the slain journalist’s 30-year-old cousin, said the family wants an investigation and has submitted details to a local human rights group [....]

Arrogance & impunity. "Who you gonna believe, us or your lying eyes?" Several decades of excessive violent responses to any situation, along with bullshit obvious counter-factual messaging with no repercussions, and the US playing Israel's piggy bank no matter what? Bibi giving the finger to Obama & coming to speak directly to the Republican-led Congress? They know what's working. Perhaps if Netanyahu goes to jail something will change, but I doubt it. Nice little concentration camps they've got there - still waiting for the Final Solution - whether a diaspora of Palestinians into more Arab lands (obviously Saudis have given up on that), or to other parts of the world or drive 'em into the sea if nothing else works. Israelis sterilizing Ethiopian immigrants is just a horrid irony considering its 20th Century. Bibi cancelled racist plans to resettle African immigrants - not because it was racist, but because it didn't resettle enough to please conservatives. Hard to fritter away sympathy from the suffering of the Holocaust, but they're doing a bang-up job of it.
We're up in arms over Russia trying to assassinate Skripal & daughter in the UK, but Israel has a whole underground program for targeted killings at home and abroad - how'd they become so exceptional?

Israel is behaving evilly.
¨Fairness¨" does not , repeat not require also criticizing Hamas for organizing these demonstration . On the contrary that wrongly blurs the clear denunciation which is the correct moral response to these murders. Netanyahu is a War Criminal. And the many Israel citizens who support him are acting like the ¨good ¨ Germans who supported Hitler.
Not to provide ¨balance¨ but simply to be factual the eloquent Israeli voices that oppose such immoral tactics somewhat redeem the country´s reputation. We undercut them if we do any less.
Those -many- Israelis who do support these tactics have at least the partial justification that in their 70 year War with their neighbors they have witnessed many Arab atrocities. But we have no justification whatsoever for not telling them they´re wrong. . In fact we fail them if we don´t take advantage of our own remoteness from their pressures to remind them that moral nations are precisely those which behave morally when tempted to do wrong.
As they ´re doing now..As they are not doing.
added later to correct my confused grammar. Sorry.
