New White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham was bruised Sunday in a scuffle between North Korean security and members of the U.S. press pool covering President Trump’s meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the Associated Press reported.
The incident, which was partially caught on video, occurred after Trump became the first sitting U.S. present to visit North Korea and days after Grisham took on the job.
The Secret Service intervened as North Korean guards pushed and shoved American reporters to block them from entering the Inter-Korean House of Freedom south of the border, where Trump and Kim were meeting, according to the AP.
Grisham stepped into the chaotic scene to help U.S. media gain access, according to tweetsfrom journalists.
In video footage, Grisham can be heard telling members of the press, “Go, go!” as she pushes past a man standing in front of a camera. Another man carrying a camera runs through the gap she creates.
Before the tussle, press outside the building had been told they would not be let in. But then a U.S. official said they were allowed.
Video shows a woman shouting for the U.S. pool to enter amid a din of voices.
“The North Korean security was a little overzealous, at times trying to block US reporters’ view,” wrote Jennifer Jacobs, a senior White House reporter at Bloomberg, adding that the clash “came to body blows.”
Comments
Stephanie is a loyal Trumpist. The White House toadies won't show up in Congress to testify, but want to be sure Trump's Despot Reality Show episode is well reported.
BTW, 5 of the recent NK nuclear negotiators are still missing and presumed executed, don't expect to hear about that on this "historic" day.

Trumpist? 76 Trump bones in the news today - 110 Convicts set to pay... it's all a big marching band operation.

Trump wants MrBoneSaw to get together with Kim to learn how an accomplished murderer disposes of people, bone sawing and acid are so medieval.

You have to admire Kim for the way he plays to pop culture. Feeding his enemies to dogs is sure to lead to GoT level popularity.

The Inhumane Society approved that incident, it was Kim's uncle anyway and we all have family "spats"......
Trump has his Tenderfoot Inhumanity badge for the kids in the cages w/o soap or toothbrushes.
Trump is hoping Kim gives him a recommendation for promotion in the group (Putin is a Commander with polonium leaf clusters).

Am I the only one that noticed that Trump stepped into NK on his left foot? Doesn't that seem kinda sinister?

Because you're the only Latin scholar here - don't rub it in. And the Dr. Scholls thing - Trump's claiming to have created Paul Bunion.

Puhleez, not big, yuge. 152 Trumpbones at the very least. MAGA, new founding father.
Like you yourself said here, not a joke, this is his reality.
All the aggravation with "the media" and the "witchhunt"? That's him thinking it's just so absurd, that they can't see what's right in front of them: that in the history books he's going down as the greatest evah.

yup, clueless media can't see his greatness:

There's real world historic and reality tv historic. When Nixon went to China it was at the end of furious negotiations that signaled a real and fundamental change in the real world. When Trump stepped into NK it meant nothing. It was only a show for the cameras. It was only historic because it never happened before. There was no other significance. But anyway, I think everyone here knows this.

You could call this full normalization, welcoming the new nuclear power in the world to the White House. Why not have a full state dinner for him?

With Bolton exiled literally to Mongolia:
they spent at least an hour behind closed doors

Oh the irony with Bolton.
He's like an Inquisition toturer relegated to changing nappies in the Church preschool, while his brand new torture equipment sits in shipping boxes, unused and gathering dust.
