"We cannot let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain,” Trump said in early-morning tweets, referring to the massacres that left 29 people dead. “We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, perhaps marrying this legislation with desperately needed immigration reform. We must have something good, if not GREAT, come out of these two tragic events!”

Well, it could have been much worse. The minions somehow reigned him in to read their prepared script (which must have been extra hard to do while lots of the teevee media were talking about him being part of the problem-his instinct when that happens always seems to be to troll back with even more outrageous attacks.) And he tried to read it:
