I know I know ... HUH?
Well that day in the future is just a short 30 years down the road.
But you see, my point of this quickie (no quinn ... not that type of quickie)...
Any way, my point of this quickie is this. What the hell will we be discussing, debating, or writing about 30 years from today?
On the flip-side, what the hell were you doing 30 years ago, September 14, 1980?
I was in my mid 30s in the top-shape of my life. I was even able to jump Volkswagon Beetles in a single bound (literally) and was employed at UCLA and keeping daily tabs on the following:
OK? Try tickling the following with your little cursor ...
Now ... toggle back and forth between those two images.
WOW ... That's almost psychedelic ... Eh?
Well anyhoo, again... the point of this post:
What the hell will we be discussing, debating, or writing about 30 years from today?
Dick Day ... If you're around, you're up first.
Quack! Quack!

Cool pics, OGD.
Sadly, in 30 years, I'll be dead.
Happily, I'll have been the last human to die, fighting manfully 'til the end.
Sadly, all of you died in the great Blog Fall of... Fall, 2011. Which of course, precipitated the events of 2012.
Happily, some of us lived through 2012 however.
Sadly, only 3 though. Me. Cl**rthinker. And Cl**rthinker's twin.
Happily, I left them alone, they turned to cannibalism, and that was that.
Sadly, after everyone else is dead, it turns out that it wasn't the cockroaches which inherited the Earth, but... hedgehogs. Flying, singing hedgehogs. No, not DickDays friends - THOSE flying, signing hedgehogs were from Earth, and were as pure-hearted now as in the time of Arthur. No, these flying, signing hedgehogs were from Jupitron. An invisible planet that double-secretly orbits the sun, always hiding just behind Jupiter.
Happily, Jupitron is only 80 feet wide, so there weren't many evil singing flying hedgehogs.
Sadly, when I wrote "not many," that was a misprint, and I really mean "countless."
Happily, after their 2012 invasion, I fought manfully and killed them all.
Sadly, I then died from exhaustion.
The End.

Not me Quinn... I refuse to die ...
I see me and my ol' partner Tom riding our tricycles 'round and 'round...

What happened to the ice weasels? Surely, they were at least as hard to kill as the hedgehogs. I don't understand.
And how could both the Thinker brothers turn to cannibalism and die? Unless they took turns at it, and gradually whittled each other down to nubs that couldn't feed themselves, like the Black Knight.
And when you say the hedgehogs were "countless," quinn, how do you know that? I mean, you obviously couldn't count them.
And why did you kill them all, if they were pure of heart? That's just mean.
Sadly, quinn, some of what you say makes no sense. I suspect you're making it up.

Oh wait. I see, yours were a different batch of hedgehogs. Less pure-hearted, though better singers and flyers. OK, it's starting to make a lot more sense now. Sorry I doubted you.

*Pssssst. Hey. Yeah.... you. The Ice Weasels say "all systems are go" for the big comeback. They're on Uranitron, waiting to jump those Jupitron bastards. All we need now is for someone to say the word. But apparently, I've forgotten it. Shame the entire Earth has to be lost due to my bad memory, but there it is.*

C'est la vie! Ou la mort, si on veut. Easy come, easy go.

Hopefully, someone will be able to write a similar post about climate change. The ozone layer is actually a great success story and one that should touted much more often in the climate change debate. It shows that scientific analysis can correctly diagnose problems in the atmosphere and advise solutions that can be implemented with the desired effect.

Speculation is unnecessary. At dagblog, we have a direct news link to events in the future: http://dagblog.com/series/news-future.

Well Ducky, I will be dead in thrity years.
Thirty years ago I was running my first and second marathons.
I had money and a house and a family and cars and a biz.
There are some old canards about skin and bones and organs. Supposedly we all have generated new skin every seven years.
Are we the same 'person' we were thirty years ago?
Well you have me thinking.
I mean I will look back on some blog I did a month ago and wonder what I was thinking when I wrote it. hahaahhhah
I know one thing for sure...in thirty years every single action will be recorded by someone or some thing.
I like to look at movies and guess when they were made. Thirty years ago we had mobile phones that were as big as lamps. haahahah
Now they are so small you cannot cradle them on your neck while you fix something on the stove.

Historians will be talking about how the GOP fell to the same fate as the 19th century Whig party. A labor party began to move the country forward after the tea party plutocracy lost support of voters.

Well, since Friday is my birthday I'll be getting ready for what better be a HUGE celebration of my 103rd natal day. I hope there'll still be a United States to fight for because if there isn't I'm going to be damn mad. I'm probably going to be damn mad for the next 30 years, so nothing will change much on that day. Except maybe I'll get presents. And a mention on the Smuckers jar from Willard Scott.

HELLO HELLO HELLO ...
Anyone here wish to continue this discussion first posted in 2010? It's been just over 4 years now. Go back to the top and follow the thread.
Whatever happened to quinn esq, and I haven't seen acanuck or DF in many many moons.
I know my old bud Dick Day's still hanging on. Plus trkingmomoe and Ramona and our illustrious host Michael Wolraich.
Anyhoo... It's now getting close to 25 years to 2040. Any new ideas what's in store?
'Cuz... the point of this post:

OK I will bite since you have been so kind to stay up with me while I suffer through a UTI.
They will be looking back at California with fond memories since the migration from the dessert conditions and no water. Major East Coast cities fighting high tide flooding wished they had not voted for the GOP in the 20th century because it is now too late to make a difference in melting ice caps. There is an epidemic of a unknown virus because of rapid changes in global warming and it started in Siberia.

You forgot to write "THE END"
As in Johns recorded vision found in the Book of Revelations.
