HEY HOWARD KURTZ, SHOVE IT UP YER……….

    File:GP K100 MARK6.jpg

    FREEDOM FIGHTER

Howard is being reasonable again. Let us not all lose our heads now. Let us tone it down. Oh some nutjob out of the blue shoots some peeps and everyone starts blaming the right wing and such.

    Let us all calm down.

The left wing talkers are as bad as the right wing talkers.

Let's be honest: Journalists often use military terminology in describing campaigns. We talk about the air war, the bombshells, targeting politicians, knocking them off, candidates returning fire or being out of ammunition. So we shouldn't act shocked when politicians do the same thing. Obviously, Palin should have used dots or asterisks on her map. But does anyone seriously believe she was trying to incite violence? http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-01-08/gabrielle-giffords-shooting-dont-blame-sarah-palin/?cid=columnists

Old Howard just being so, so goddamnably reasonable again. Why it is not right wing pundits and such prodding, goading, urging these wackos on.

I mean the wackos will always be with us.

    FUCK YOU HOWARD!!!!

Angle: I feel that the Second Amendment is the right to keep and bear arms for our citizenry. This not for someone who's in the military. This not for law enforcement. This is for us. And in fact when you read that Constitution and the founding fathers, they intended this to stop tyranny. This is for us when our government becomes tyrannical... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/16/sharron-angle-floated-2nd_n_614003.html

The Second Amendment never had anything to do with sportsmen and all that, our Founding Fathers were ensuring the rights of individuals to protect themselves from their own government.

There will come a time when they won’t let you buy a gun

Get out there and buy a gun right now before it is too late.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed the gun that was used in the attack at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ public event in Tucson, Arizona, Friday was bought legally. The shooter, allegedly 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner,  reportedly fired on Giffords from about four feet away, sending her to the hospital with critical wounds, injuring 18 people in total and killing six, including a child and a federal judge. The gun was purchased on November 30 at Sportman’s Warehouse, in Tucson, and was bought along with at least one additional handgunhttp://www.thedailybeast.com/cheat-sheet/newsmaker/politics/?cid=topic:cheatsheet4#cheatrow_23027

Read it at The Washington Post

    Rush Limbaugh:

“You know why there’s a Second Amendment? In case the government fails to follow the first one.”   http://howcanpeoplebesostupid.com/?p=1135

This is about chaos. This is why it's called Operation Chaos! It's not called Operation Save Hillary. It's not called Operation Nominate Obama. It's called Operation Chaos! The dream end... I mean, if people say what's your exit strategery, the dream end of this is that this keeps up to the convention and that we have a replay of Chicago 1968, with burning cars, protests, fires, literal riots, and all of that. That's the objective here.  http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-feldman/did-limbaugh-incite-viole_b_100586.html

GLENN: Chris Cox from the National Rifle Association is here.  Hello, Chris…

GLENN:  He actually, in a recent court deposition Bloomberg said he believed, "The Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights gives you the right to keep and bear arms but in a recent brief to the Supreme Court Mr. Bloomberg’s attorneys argued that the amendment was not intended to vest arm power in the citizens acting outside of any governmental military effort, either federal or state."  Jeez, Chris, I mean, how do these people believe that the founding fathers that were afraid of out-of-control governments didn’t want people to have guns outside of the government?

I was in a gun shop not too long ago looking to arm myself in preparation for the coming zombie apocalypse (better known as Easter). They didn't have what I was looking for, so I left empty-handed. Before doing so, however, I was treated to an earful by the guy helping me. When I commented that they didn't seem to have much of a selection, he quickly told me that their guns had been flying off the shelves since it first began to look like Obama might win the election. Not realizing what I was walking into, I stupidly asked him why he thought that was happening. He went on a rant that would have made Glenn Beck proud about how Obama was going to abolish the Second Amendment and make gun ownership a crime. He breathlessly told me that Mississippians were buying guns in record numbers while they still could. I left the store wondering whether racism had as much to do with this as fears about gun control. http://www.atheistrev.com/2009/04/glenn-becks-idiocy-has-real.html

"But the clear meaning of the Second Amendment has not stopped those who want to punish firearms owners – and those who make and sell firearms – for the actions of criminals. It seems like every time there is a particularly violent crime, the anti-gun activists demand yet another restriction on the Second Amendment. I opposed the ban on so-called ‘assault weapons,’ which was first proposed after a California schoolyard shooting. It makes no sense to ban a class of firearms based on cosmetic features. I have opposed waiting periods for gun purchases."

Dozens of Second Amendment rights activists holstered their handguns and slung unloaded rifles over their shoulders Monday at a gun rights rally in northern Virginia, while hundreds of like-minded but unarmed counterparts converged in the nation's capital.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah shucks, them radio boys are just funnin', right Howard?

In the U.S. for 2006, there were 30,896 deaths from firearms, distributed as follows by mode of death: Suicide 16,883; Homicide 12,791; Accident 642; Legal Intervention 360; Undetermined 220. This makes firearms injuries one of the top ten causes of death in the U.S. The number of firearms-related injuries in the U.S., both fatal and non-fatal, increased through 1993, declined to 1999, and has remained relatively constant since. However, firearms injuries remain a leading cause of death in the U.S., particularly among youth (CDC, 2001) (CDC, 2006).

The number of non-fatal injuries is considerable--over 200,000 per year in the U.S. Many of these injuries require hospitalization and trauma care. A 1994 study revealed the cost per injury requiring admission to a trauma center was over $14,000. The cumulative lifetime cost in 1985 for gunshot wounds was estimated to be $911 million, with $13.4 billion in lost productivity. (Mock et al, 1994) The cost of the improper use of firearms in Canada was estimated at $6.6 billion per year. (Chapdelaine and Maurice, 1996)

Howard Kurtz is reliably idiotic almost every time I hear him speak.  I do not think Gov Palin was trying to incite violence but her stupidity blinded her to what she was doing.  (Her spokesperson so eagerly denying that that's what they meant really makes the point, and, again, foold that they are, they think it to be a good one).

Others, people you mention, the ones the sheriff adverted to last night, are hard to figure.  But the point is not whether they are intentionally advocating violence---if they are that's a law enforcment matter----it is whether they give a crap about what comnes from what they said.

Sheriff Dupnik (and anybody who does not see how great this guy is has been asleep) started to make this point more fully today, but the blow dries got bored and he had to stop:  When he was a young officer, he said, people with mental problems were instituionalized.  Now they are on the streets.  If he was asked why that is, he would say that the change came because, you know, government does nothing right, people don't want to pay taxes, taking care of the mentally unbalanced costs money, "de-instituionalizing" them seemed easier and cheaper than treating them when it turned out that warehousing them was immoral.

And there they all are:  out there, blowing up federal buildings, killing doctors who perform legal abortions and trying to kill a Congresswoman, and getting a federal judge, a valiant staff member, and a nine year old girl who might have been president someday, instead.

    Read my lips.

Oh I am just so damn mad about this it is difficult to get my brain around it all.

I just know that this recent tragedy is not some isolated case and that there are tens of thousands of these shoot outs every year.

And I believe it is related to hate radio, hate tv and loose gun laws.

Glenn beck and others are telling Americans to get out there and buy guns to protect themselves from government. hell that is what every gang member in America does already.

    Damn

NRA Executive Director Wayne LaPierre, told a cheering crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2009, “Freedom is nothing but dust in the wind till it’s guarded by the blue steel and dry powder of a free and armed people . . . Our founding fathers understood that the guys with the guns make the rules.”link

I have no doubt the GOP instigates their nutjob delusional gun toting 'Base' to scare off and/or intimidate good people who might otherwise oppose their policies, or run for office against them. The day may yet arrive, with our country in a tailspin thanks to Bush and Co., that the psychos of the right wing run out of liberal scapegoats, they may then go looking for Republicans to vent .....those highly charged and dangerous frustrations.

And they do it openly. All these guns showing up at tea bag rallies.

I am important, I am powerful, I am right and here is my gun to prove the point.
