    HONESTY IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

The curse of being Irish is that
women just love me for my stories!
    (Eyewitness_(1981_film@32min)

    Honesty is the best policy?

    Really?

Forget the best policy aspect of this Franklinian (is that a word?) proverb; does it work or do we need more stories from Irishmen?

Honesty has been creeping into our media lately and the honesty has been coming from the repubs; of all people?

Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-Tenn.) told an 11-year-old girl who spoke out at a town hall meeting last week that her undocumented father should be deported, saying "we need to follow" current immigration laws.

Well DesJarlais, even though he has a foreign name and most probably likes FRENCH FRIES rather than American Fries, has taken on the responsibility of telling an 11-year-old that there is no Santa Claus; that there is no reality in believing the words written on our Statue of Liberty; and that the Civil Rights legislation of the 60's means nothing!

Scotty (as his white friends refer to him) actually said something that was honest.

I do not agree with this fellow's interpretation of our laws (current or otherwise) but Scotty told this youngster the truths that are the basis of the repub party today:

WE DO NOT GIVE ONE GODDAMN ABOUT YOU YOU WORTHLESS WAIF!

But I gotta tellya all, my favorite evidence of truthfulness this week as far as the repubs go has to go to this NJ candidate for the Senate of the United States of America!

"I have a handicap, you know. I am a white guy running in the state of new-jersey."

Just on this note; I would guess his handicap is primarily mental but....I would guess that his handicap on the golf course would approach 71!

    2. "I'd hate to see you get cancer, but that's your problem, not mine."

This one statement underlines the entire basis for the repub party; in my humble opinion!

How often does one witness such honesty during a campaign?

There is no 'spin' as O'Reilly likes to put it.

There is no obfuscation as FOX News might put it.

In short, there is no double talk.

This bastard does not give one goddamn about anybody except for him and his!

Oh what a relief it is; as they used to say on the tellie with regard to heart burn.

    6. Don't feel sorry for Hurricane Sandy victims because "every day, around this country, somewhere, somebody is suffering a tragedy of equal or worse impact and we don't run and hand them a check."

Okay, check the links for other treasures but I think this one statement really embodies the entire repub ethos. Steve Lonegan is my new hero!

He will lose of course; thank the Good Lord and NJ intelligence.

But STEVIE is not fucking around. hahahahahaha

Look, when we would receive the latest mortality figures from our two wars during the Cheney Administration, we would be comforted that more people die in car accidents. Assuming I recall correctly.

    The idea is this.

    SHITE HAPPENS!

This all brought me back to this item at Salon:

Youngstown, Ohio experienced its very first earthquake in January, 2011. From then until February 2012, it experienced 108 more. According to research published in the Journal of Geophysical Research, the sudden wave of quakes, unheard of since Ohio began keeping records in 1776, was likely tied to hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.

    I MEAN SHITE HAPPENS.

I am not even getting into lies; straight out lies; reckless disregard for the truth...etc.

I am not getting at global warming liars or rape liars or trickle down liars or death panel liars or....

    I MEAN SHITE HAPPENS!

Ted Cruz is my latest example.

Now here is a guy not just born in Canada. But this sombitch has a father (in whom he is proud) who once fought proudly for Castro. Hahahahahaha

I am having real problems with my brain as far as 'grasping' all of this.

    Hahahahahah

    I really cannot stop laughing.

This sombitch, the reincarnation of Joseph McCarthy presents his fascist father on stage, the same fascist father who aided Fidel Castro in the 50's.

If this theatre does not end up as a musical (like Springtime for Hitler in Germany) I will really be surprised since I am working on a script as I write this post. hahahahahah

Cruz was born in CalgaryAlbertaCanada,[1][10] where his parents, Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson Darragh[11] and Rafael Bienvenido Cruz,[11] were working in the oil business.[12][13] Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, who was born in Matanzas, Cuba,[11] was jailed and tortured by the Fulgencio Batista regime and fought for Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution[14][15] but "didn't know Castro was a Communist" and later became a staunch critic of Castro when "the rebel leader took control and began seizing private property and suppressing dissent."[16] The elder Cruz fled to America in 1957 to study at the University of Texas, knowing no English and with only $100 sewn into his underwear.[17][18] His younger sister fought in the counter-revolution and was tortured by the new regime.[15] He remained regretful for his early support of Castro, and emphatically conveyed this remorse to his young son over the following years.[15] The elder Cruz worked his way through college as a dishwasher, making 50 cents an hour.[19] Cruz's father today is a pastor in North Dallas and became a U.S. citizen in 2005.

Update: Looks like Ted Cruz has been convinced that he is in fact currently both an American and Canadian citizen. The Texas Republican announced late Monday that he'll take the necessary steps to drop his dual citizenship, news that comes roughly 24 hours after the Dallas Morning News made it clear that the Calgary-born Tea Party favorite technically had Canadian citizenship whether he knew it or not.

"Now the Dallas Morning News says that I may technically have dual citizenship," Cruz said in a statement published by the Washington Post. "Assuming that is true, then sure, I will renounce any Canadian citizenship. Nothing against Canada, but I’m an American by birth and as a U.S. senator; I believe I should be only an American."

Cruz is also a Canadian citizen, according to the Canadian law experts the Morning News spoke with. Under the Citizenship Act of 1947, anyone born in Canada is automatically granted citizenship at birth unless their parent was a foreign diplomat. (Cruz's parents were not.) Or, more simply, as University of Montreal law professor France Houle put it: "If a child was born in the territory, he is Canadian, period."

Cruz is not even hiding this crap from the public. Hell, he produces his Canadian birth certificate. hahahaha In addition to his Castro backing old man. hahahahah

    WHERE IS ORLY TAITZ?

    I don't care.

I never believed this 'natural born' crap anyhow.

I am just struck by HONESTY sometimes.

Nugent is just obscene. Truth has nothin to do with nothin!

Among the lowlights, Nugent attacked the "lying racist in the White House," "criminal pieces of shit in the IRS," "dirty cocksuckers in the government," "the jack boot Nazi motherfuckers in the Department of Justice," "fucking retarded mongrels" who support animal rights, and "well-fed motherfucker food stamp cocksuckers." He also drew a comparison between the American Revolution and the present, stating, "When the British came to take our guns we met them at Concord Bridge and we blew their fucking brains out," and warned his audience, "keep a fucking gun in your hand, boys....

Stating that "I thought I was going to be the only black guy here tonight," Nugent singled out an African-American audience member and said, "Good to see you brother. Let me see that big ol' smile. It's dark but I still see it."

According to the NYT, repubs are shying away from the 'town meetings' and the truths they actually hold so dear. The audiences appearing at these meetings just yell and scream racist right wing crap, basically and the repubs would rather skip the exercise.

The New York Times reports that the events are not on congressional schedules, and that members have taken to making what few do take place hard-to-find and even harder to use as a springboard for theatrics: small venues scheduled on short notice. Looking back at how activists actually used those events, again the dismal future is inscribed on the past. A 2010 Freedom Works memo (pdf) that advised activists to use tactics to artificially inflate their presence seems especially poignant: they were, literally, fooling only themselves. Today, just a tiny fraction of the nation's voters, 8%, identify as members, with about 24% expressing "support".

If you wish to be a real repub; if you are against loving your neighbor; if you are against feeding the poor; if you really wish to give all tax breaks to the rich and deny the poor any help; if you wish the worst for the poorer sick folks; if you would lower the minimum wage....be true to your school!

This nation will not have a government able to address the huge challenges we face this century until the Greedy Old Party ceases to exist as anything but a fringe group of wack jobs. A transformation which is nearly completed.

    Thanks NCD for chiming in.

I have had these thoughts about third parties and the terrible situation that now greets all of us with a two party system.

The House through gerrymandering has just crippled any chance for change whether we are speaking about the environment or taxes or health care or whatever.

The Senate can be controlled by minorities which makes no sense.

You already know that I am a Democrat and that all I see or have seen for fifty years is a choice between two candidates--there are exceptions as when my state ended up with a weird wrestler as our governor.

If the repubs would just split into two parties; who what a relief that would be.

And frankly, a Dem party splitting into two or three factions would not be that bad.

It is just that the dems usually argue with each other over complicated issues and then see the repubs just walk in step; always.

India used to have hundreds of parties and that kind of ended up in chaos.

When folks attempt to categorize the dems with the repubs as far as insanity it just makes me more irate.

I frankly think that seven or eight different parties might alleviate a lot of problems.

    Oh well...

    Choose one

Well here is my third shot.

You left a link that was not a link but I cut and pasted it on the URL anyway...it did not work.

Now as far as being screwed or having a screw loose?

    Yeah. ha

I wouldn't say what republicans are saying is honest.

I would say republicans present the truth in stark black and white terms.

For me, I see the truth as black and white too, but with 256 shades of grey in between because there is nothing that can't be made true ... just needs some help along the way.

And that's the issue with republicans ... admitting something they believe is false can be made true if circumstances allow it.

I agree. 360 different perspectives in a circle.

I would not mind a real discussion about fracking.

You know, jobs that would be lost, water that is being lost and contaminated, damage to the air counterbalanced with the cleaner discharges into the air following refinement,..

I would not mind a real discussion of issues surrounding teen pregnancy or issues surrounding gang violence...

Hundreds of real issues face this country and most repubs just read their memos sent by Heritage and spit out meaningless talking points.

Oh the dems also spit out meaningless talking points would be the response.

But the dems are stuck arguing real issues amongst themselves.
