The kids in Ms. Cadwell's seventh-grade remedial math class at Egan Jr. High in Los Altos, California, are doing things differently this year. They solve problems at their own pace, using a computer program that gives them instant feedback, charts their progress, and rewards them when they get 10 correct answers in a row. Instead of listening to the teacher lecture about dividing fractions, they learn from short videos that they can pause and rewind. They progress very quickly -- more than doubling their scores on an exit exam in just the first 12 weeks of this pilot project. Students earn badges for solving problems rapidly and accurately, and for working hard to master a concept. It's "like a game," says John Martinez, 13. "It's kind of an addiction -- you want a ton of badges."

The man behind this remarkable venture is an unabashedly geeky former hedge-fund analyst and star high-school mathlete named Sal Khan. The mission of his not-for-profit Khan Academy is "to deliver a world-class education to anyone anywhere." And if you ask supporters like Ann and John Doerr, Bill Gates, and Google.org, he has a good shot.

You may not agree with all of the ideas—I sure don't.

But that is not the point.

The point is that there are so many ideas out there and so many issues out there and so many experts who have studied these issues and so many discussions that could be had about these ideas and about these issues.

When you think about it even the word 'expert' has a bad connotation.

I was thinking as a communist every time I listen to rush or beckerhead or hannity or bachmann or palin or THE NEWT or.....

That maybe there is a language problem in this country!

The heavy metal evangelist Bradlee Dean, whose opening prayer Friday at the Minnesota House of Representatives has sparked a firestorm, does not much like Islam, a religion he believes is at war with the United States

Okay, before links and such think about this! This Dean was a failed rocker who found Emmanuel and then decided he hated all Muslims.

And remember folks, 1.5 billion people are an awful lot of people to hate. And he claims to be a minister and a follower of the Christian Faith and he wishes to destroy, to annihilate, to bury 1.5 billion people.

But that is not enough for this bastard.

I mean, he finds our President to be a Muslim.

Dean has long believed that President Obama is a Muslim, and he often insists that Obama has declared America a Muslim nation. So it wasn’t terribly surprising when he snuck a slur against the president into his prayer. The Minnesota House of Representatives, he acknowledged, is a nondenominational chamber, which he takes to mean that all kinds of Christians are welcome. “[I]t’s not about the Baptists and it’s not about the Catholics alone or the Lutherans or the Wesleyans, or the Presbyterians the evangelicals or any other denomination,” he said. The only head of the denomination—i.e., of the government —“is Jesus, as every president up until 2008 has acknowledged.” 

Now we have the source, or one of the sources for the myth that our President is Muslim in nature.

This is a slam against a President who chants: GOD BLESS AMERICA every goddamn time he gives a speech. But there WAS the Newt and there WAS the Trump and there WAS the Huckster

Well we are all supposed to think the issue is dead!

Obama, in Dean’s view, is also part of an anti-American plot. Earlier this month, after Osama bin Laden’s death, he claimed that Obama is a greater threat to this country than the terrorist leader. “Osama bin laden is not the one that is at war with the American governors protecting the American borders, is he?” asked Dean. “Osama bin Laden is not the one who is trying to disarm the American people, Obama is!...No one has attacked this country and its people…more than this man’s administration. Do the math.” 

I want to point out here that Osama being a bigger threat than Obama to truth, justice and the American Way is no longer a far out theory.

Even by right-wing standards, then, Dean is extreme. But he is not too extreme for the Minnesota Republican Party. He has long been close to Michele Bachmann, who keynoted a fundraising gala for his ministry, “You Can Run but You Cannot Hide.” Tim Pawlenty appeared on his radio show in January. And on Friday, he was invited to give the Minnesota House’s opening prayer.

This idiot Bradlee Dean did not just come out of Minnesota, this Bradlee Deen represents all of the beliefs of Minnesota Republicans.

But Dean didn't just come out of nowhere. He's been affiliated with local Republicans a long time. Including Michele Bachmann, who offered up this bizarre, acid trip of a prayer to his anti-gay ministry, "You Can Run But You Cannot Hide."
"This ministry, 'You Can Run But You Cannot Hide,' they are not sidetracked, they're on course," Bachmann intones. "They're way on course. Because they get it. They get what this is all about

She then goes on to talk about a "fire of the gospel" sweeping Minnesota and turning it into a "sweet-smelling incense of praise and sacrifice."

WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE?

I think the problems lie in language!

WHO IS THE ENEMY?

You cannot speak with the repubs about real ideas for real change!

You cannot get a repub to discuss the new ideas in education.

The repub is speaking an entirely different language after all.

If we do not see who the devil really is in this country; without regard to language, we are all going to hell!
