    Loose Lips Sink Ships

Years ago I watched a movie about WWII. It was black & white (so really old). It was all about some German spies who were being schooled in colloquial American language, such as who they wanted to win the World Series, and other theoretically "loyalty" questions in order that they could get onto US Navy ships and wreak havoc. They learned the typical "rah rah" type of one team over the other, they learned accents, etc, and finally they were deemed ready to begin their operation, which would sink the whole US Fleet.

When they were questioned as they entered the gate and answered that they were assigned to the "Tukson Queen".  (The Ship awaiting US sailor was the Tucson Queen), and the alert guardsman recognized that these were exactly the spies he had been warned to look out for, and the whole caper was spoiled. Yay! USA!

Today at the Christian, Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA, when Donald Trump, trying to bluff his way into Evangelical Land, quoted "2 Chorinthians". Instead of Second Corinthians, there were a few chuckles, but nobody really cared that they were being played. No one cared that he was using their faith to get them on his side. They didn't care that he is a complete religious phony. No one cared, because hate is so much more important than truth to these sad sheep. I am not saying there should be a gate-guard, as in the movie to keep others out, but at least it might be helpful to recognize when someone is pretending to have a faith in common with you in order to make you think you share the same values, that their assumption is that you are a chump.

PS: I listened to quite a bit of this, and so much was a pile of lies -- never rebutted by the station that carried it. So pathetic. Just one example: the money than Iran got was payment for the 4 prisoners who were released. No challenge, and so these simple pathetic students at Liberty University, who HAD to attend, swallowed it all because they don't know any better.

    This is great!

But Cville, those Krauts were trained.

    They had to learn linguistics.

Trump aint gonna learn anything because he already knows it all.

    hahahahahha

    I love the Bible.....

What the hell does that mean?

I hear he also has a great relationship with God. I guess we can assume from that, that God has cheesy taste.

My favorite bible movie is Corinthians II: Days of Columny

Mine's Axe 2: Tongues of Fire, along with La Viticus 19, where thou mayest not hew thine own head onto oblong shapes (reminiscent of admonitions in Saw III, which I assume was named after his apostle before he got to Damascus, part of the apocrophilia?)

It is truly disgusting to see these people paying homage to this blowhard.

And it just keeps getting better ... Palin's back. Heaven help me if I have to listen to that voice through another election season.

The difference is that she has the lingo down pat. Never mind that her "lingo" sounds like a word salad to anyone who knows how to conjugate a verb. I think the two if them are a perfect match. And I am not sorry that Cruz is a frustrated rat-faced nim-rod.

A perfect match on paper, yes, but at least in this first dual setting they seemed oddly disconnected. Trump reads and feeds his audience with an off-the-cuff, freestyle routine that is far more fine tuned than it appears. He ramps up and dials back with a razor sharp ear for the crowd. He's not the far right Tea Party. Palin clashed against that tonight in Iowa. I'm really wondering if The Donald is as happy with his yuuge endorsement as he thought he'd be.

I completely agree with you, barefooted.  I think when she offered to endorse him he couldn't say no, but now he is stuck with this giddy, goofy, illiterate harpy.  He seemed very uncomfortable during her childish rant, which made me think he is wiser than I had given him credit for (but only minimally so, and only in his ability to sound reasonable to a horde of unreasonable angry people).  Her Schtick was unsuccessful and she is clueless.  Trump thinks he scored; we shall see. He thinks this harpy will help him into the White House?  Maybe he should ask former POW John Mc Cain how Palin helped him.

That said, I still think he is an un-self-aware narcissistic dolt who could easily be played by anyone on the international stage who would throw a few compliments his way.  I still have a tiny bit of faith that the American electorate will see the light.

We'll see how long she lasts. She semi-endorsed Rand Paul and said twice that it was a highly contested race! If there's even the slightest indication that she's off message or - clearly worse - out-shining him she's gone. I still don't see her on the trail with him as a positive for the Trump campaign beyond Iowa, but she doesn't go away easily.

That said, it really tickles me to think of what HE must have been thinking on stage with her last night, and the internal "discussions" that must have taken place afterwards.

THAT VOICE!  How can anyone stand it????????

Years ago when I worked in an inner city Emergency Room, there was a occasional voice like hers that rang out.  Our answer was always something to the effect of, "Put that crazy idiot into an Isolaion Room!

    Now, not so much.
