    Nelson Mandela: Homeward Bound

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

    HOMEWARD BOUND

    *
    Open your arms, Dear Lord!
    We shout today,
    For your messenger of justice
    is on his way.
    *
It was like nothing we’d ever
    seen before,
when he left to meet you
    at Heaven’s door.
    Deep in the night,
    as the world slept sound,
    his chariot arrived,
    and he was homeward bound.
    *
    Dressed like a prince,
    all in white;
    His spirit aglow
    on this sacred night.
    Young and vibrant,
    All sickness now gone;
    No more
    Suffering or pain,
As he rose to move on.
    *
    His chariot was swift,
    with six
    beautiful white horses,
    and
    the thunder roared
    as his chariot departed.
    *
    With one final glance
at the ones that he loved,
    he was whisked
    through the clouds
    to his new home above.
    *
    We’ll miss
    his warm smile,
    In our own selfish way,
    But you’re warrior for justice
    will be back home today.
    .

    God’s speed, Nelson

    Thanks for this

In another thread, the word terrorist is being used to describe Mandela when the truth is he prevented further violence. Using terrorist, the same words used by the bigot William F Buckley, to describe Mandela is printed with pride

Mandela took a peaceful approach following Ghandi. The South African Government responded with the massacre at a peaceful protest in Sharpesville. Mandela and others considered sabotage, guerrilla warfare, terrorism and open revolt. Sabotage was to be the first strategy with emphasis on no loss of life.

Mandela was arrested before terrorism took phold with the ANC.De Klerk knew that Mandela was the only one capable of ending the threatened open revolt

I hope you include similar tributes to icons as a part of the book you are planning on the life you shared with your wife.

Thank you, RM.  I love writing tributes to people whose lives have contributed to humanity, because that's how one should live one's life - unselfishly, and dedicated to moving humanity forward:  http://wattree.blogspot.com/2012/01/martin-luther-king-jr-man-who-made.html

    Beautiful!

    Just Beautiful

    Thank you!

    Thank you, Richard.
