I applaud GOP Chair Michael Steele's self-contradictory comments about Afghanistan; he is the perfect example of the current-day Republican Party and should remain as an out(in right field)spoken leader of an out(in right field foul territory)spoken party.
I think the point for all reasonable people (Dems, Indies, reasonable Republicans) to recognize and emphasize is that this KIND of BS-Oppose-Anything-That-Obama-Says-At-Any-Cost is EXACTLY what (almost) ALL Republicans are doing. And, doing to some success, it appears (at the moment). Each of them keeps pushing each other to come up with just a little bit more extreme Obama criticism.
It is outrageous, and it is time for Americans to go on a major land offensive against this type of hyper-partisan-fact-challenged-self-contradictory-verging-on-the-kind-of-anti-patriotic-crap-that-Republicans-gleefully-accuse-Democrats-of-spew!
At the risk of repeating myself, my take is that Steele is just playing the same game that most Republicans are playing in opposing everything this President says or does simply to try to bring him down.
