My apologies for missing last week. I had another unexpected hospitalization. I was there for 12 days was just discharged last night, so my haiku output this week was pitiful. I'll try to get back up to speed by next week.
---
Weary revelers
quietly stumble back home ...
A midnight snowflake.
---
Flakes of confetti
stuck in his beard, eye shadow
smudged on his collar.
---
When you are taken
out of your routine; rethink,
resolve, then re-set.
---
Happy New Year to all.
Comments
I was soooooooo worried
I just kept on checking in
Momoe and I checked
I once had a friend
I told her we have crosses
Have crosses to bear
She retorted thusly
I do not, I am Jewish
I laughed heartily
You, my friend carry
You carry a heavy cross
Heavier than most
Get well amigo
We all have missed you so much
A New Year arrives!
Hope you are feeling better

Daggfolk who dabble
In the five-seven-five rhyme
May reach out a hand.
It stinks being in the hospital over holidays. I hope your recovery is speedy.

It is so good to hear from you. Did you have a good holiday? I know it is very cold in your part of the country. Stay warm and your comments are missed around here.

Hi, momoe. Holidays were quiet which is just fine with me. It was -22yesterday morning. Brutal. But not as brutal as the way upper midwest. Mr. Day must have icicles hanging from his nose.
I will try to participate more. I'm doing much better than before and in fact am about to celebrate my new birthday very soon. I'll be two years old! hahahaha
Now if I can only get the internet to stop being so iffy and picky and blah, blah, blah.

-31F.
The low for most of the last 4 weeks.
I complained first some fourteen days before the Solstice. hahahah
Now we are 14 days following the Solstice.
I was going to go for groceries at the local super because the high was going to be 19F? and yet there was a goddamn blizzard. And with the winds we are talking about below zero wind chills.
Screw that.
We have, we actually have a corner store located in an adjoining building. I pay probably, 33% more but damn....I end up saving money cause I eat less. hahahahaha And somebody at my weight class should eat less. hahahahah
I am posting this complaint here because there is no place else to put it.
And, following input from Momoe I am ashamed that I complain so damn much.
Momoe told me you had been sick and I did not know this.
When I had all those followers years ago, you were always there.
Yeah, baby its cold outside. hahahahahaha
I hope you are getting better too!
I get reg SS now, I forget how bad it was, but damn, except for a long pattern of neurological probs, that rarely affect me now, I forget how well I am now.
I get my SS and I pay only 75% of marketable rent and I have a few hundred in savings and I am not sick.
Anyway, I hope you are feeling better!
the end

Thanks to everyone for coming to my room and making me feel better. It was only 18 degrees here this morning, which seems like a tropical heat wave compared to DD's town where it is -31F.
I vote for skipping January and February this year and moving immediately to March.

I feel guilty because I am in the tropics. It is 64 degrees right now at 8pm.

It is a cause for celebration anytime anyone is discharged from a lengthy stay in the hospital, no matter how weak they remain. And you have managed to crank the Haikulodeon three times without therapist assistance. I am impressed.
Congratulations!

Take your time getting better. We were afraid that you were sick again. Glad you are home. That was a long stay in the hospital. Is that because you don't have some one to look after you when you are sick?
I hear you have plenty of snow and cold. I go to pick broccoli at the farm on Saturday. I actually will have to wear a sweater because it cooled down.

Don't panic when there's
fire in the sky; it may just
be the setting sun.

Sorry to hear of your down time. 12 days is so long. I thought my 10 day stay was horrible
I hope you recover quickly
I found these verses comforting
Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but lthey who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings mlike eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
