Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason?
Why, if it prosper, none dare call it treason.
Was Trump diminishing the significance of the word treason, projecting onto the opposition (as he so often does) his own transgressions, by accusing Democrats of treason for not applauding him at the SOU?
Comments
I am prone to think Trump unbound is nearly all projection all the time. It's figuring out when he's fully unbound is the problem. Some of his tweets are edited and we can't be sure which those are. It's become easier with the speeches as those where he's ad libbing rather than telepromptering, he's getting looser all the time, pure spewing of id.
Partly I've also gotten confirmation of that from following on Twitter a couple of the reporters that are closest to the White House, get the most leaks, been dealing with it the longest. While it may not come across in their published reporting, on twitter they are always picking out points of irony, the projection thing, as in: here's yet another "does he really understand what he's saying?", like he constantly amazes them all the time on this front.
Meta: I am surprised to see Risen writing for Intercept. Kinda makes me wanna cry: traitor! Got my own issues, prejudiced against Greenwald, bias confirmation, because well: he's Greenwald. Gotta try harder not to let the emotions affect.

He writes where he's allowed, I suppose, and where he's paid as well as read. I posted a link to a piece of his not long ago and linking to The Intercept is not my usual. As for Greenwald? Try harder if you can, but I don't think I'll bother.

James Risen is not a Greenwald. He has a long history of reporting, international and national.
Thanks to AG Holder Risen avoided jail for refusing to testify in a CIA/Iran operation leak case that was a CIA fiasco.

I know, I've been a fan of his work for a long time. The traitor thing was about him associating with Greenwald, as someone else would say: sad. very sad.
Edit to add: back in the ye old Iraq war days, I remember having to defend Risen against Greenwald types who thought of him as a Neo-Con enabler if not an evil Neo-Con himself, Judith Miller co-conspirator, etc.

Projection:

Yeah, cause 'collusion' and 'meddling' are oh so different, kinda like 'depends on what the meaning of is is'.
Let flyover country digest this one, I'm waiting.

Well, ya see, “meddling” is going in where you don’t belong and (in this case), messing things up. “Collusion” is helping a meddler meddle. Got it?
The flyovers know all about meddling; they just believe the liar-in-Chief when he says it’s fake news.

Above projection once again confirmed.

a regular projection festival:
I am actually getting beyond tired of seeing his id. I am at this point: have you no self-respect? It's as if he's continually appearing in public in dirty underpants. I don't know how Haberman and the others on this beat can stand it.
