Query: At what point will the absence of metal detectors at public venues become actionable as torts? (Cf., any after hours club in Manhattan...)

Interesting question that probably is right on that amorphous line between what is a matter for the state legislatures, and the role of the courts under common law to establish standards of care and making proximate cause determinations.
