WASHINGTON — Members of Congress confronted Christopher A. Wray, the F.B.I. director, on Wednesday over an F.B.I. intelligence report that said that black extremists were targeting law enforcement because of police abuses in minority communities.
Mr. Wray met with the Congressional Black Caucus for about 90 minutes on Capitol Hill to discuss its members’ concerns about the report, which grouped together blacks who have espoused violent ideologies, some of whom went on to attack the police, under the term the “Black Identity Extremist” movement.
Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat of New York, said Mr. Wray struggled to defend the report’s analysis and could not identify a single black identity extremist group [....]

This is what happens when racists are elected, This is what happens when voters who claim not to be racists cast votes for a racist.

I can't even say this makes them racist - they use every single facet of life to stir up fear of the other in which they're the daddy figure to protect from the onslaught. It can be ethnicity, it can be "socialism" with health care & chewing up the normal functioning of government, it can be "religion" with their shifting sands from contraception to abortion. They're opportunist power-hungry marauding sociopaths. This is just 1 more avenue.

March 2015 piece @ The Marshall Project cites Comey talking about working on the race problem:
Why Is the FBI so White? The nation diversifies. The bureau, not so much.

The phrasing really puzzles me - "Michael Mason, a black man who retired..." Uh, that's bizarre - he's a black *executive*, currently SVP & CSO (chief security officer) of Verizon, formerly Executive Asst Director at the FBI. I suppose we can list Obama as a "black man who happened to be president", but I would never write it quite like that, and if we flip it to "Louis Freeh, a white man who retired in 2004", we might notice that we'd never structure it like that, nor ignoring the impressive current credentials that typically would bolster the evidence from that person's point of view. It's like they want an average joe in the end.

This is unrelated in any level of importance, but I went on a camping trip with Michael Mason and his kids a couple of times when my kids were in high school. He was a very impressive guy. Handsome, sweet to his kids, and was the only one of the 14 of us who could catch a fish!
