This is deadly serious, Dick. He's being replaced by his chief of staff, Matthew Whitaker, who will assume leadership of the Mueller investigation and try to shut down. Sessions is a shmuck, but his position at Justice was the only thing protecting the investigation. The shit is about to hit the fan.

Acting AG Matt Whitaker on CNN, July 2017: "I could see a scenario where Jeff Sessions is replaced with a recess appointment and that attorney general doesn’t fire Bob Mueller, but he just reduces his budget to so low that his investigation grinds to almost a halt.”

Mike I get this, believe you me!
But Mueller is just about done, in my humble opinion.
Does Mueller have the tax info, the email info, the audio info.....
Yeah I think he does.
Will the House follow up? Yes indeedy.
Our President is a crook and a liar and he covers up and he is...
Incompetent.
And NBC notes that Mueller can approach his Grand Jury and ask for further indictments and I think? he can send those indictments to the House.
We shall see.
Anyway, you have more than a few good points.

I doubt Mueller is "almost done" - he's been pulling on a lot of strings, and some have gotten quite a bit longer. See how this extends to Saudi, UAE, Israel now. Manafort was just convicted a month ago, no doubt leading to a whole new load of confessions. Trump's tax situation was revealed to be much worse, leading one to suspect that all the suspicions over Russian support of his business is absolutely true, along with additional partners. I imagine he'll need to see Trump's taxes at this point, among other records, even though Trump's still playing his game about supposedly answering questions, a process that takes months it seems.

I agree with PP that Mueller probably has a lot more work to do. That said, he was surely anticipating this and has prepared at least an interim report. I expect we'll find out his strategy soon enough.

Mike that is my point.
But with Gildenstern gone, Rosencrantz is meeting with Spanky today!
Spanky is mad and I feel that Rosencrantz is gone tooooooooo.
the end

New AG scammed gullible inventors of millions. Isn't that what being a Republican is all about?
He was on the Board.
Matthew Whitaker sat on advisory board of World Patent Marketing, which was ordered to pay $26m settlement in May..... link

more on the Guardian' Whitaker story link, which cites the 2017 Miami New Times feature; the New Times published this this afternoon:

Marcy Wheeler keeps insisting Mueller's doing his work through indictments, not reports. I'd imagine thw only way we see a report is via a deadman's trip, but maybe not even then - there are other alternatives.

May we not hope (without exposing ourselves to uproarious derisive laughter from the cynics...) that Mueller has already availed himself of the now ended Rosenstein supervisory period to file under seal the necessary indictments?

Slightly related, why would Lindsey Graham put himself under Trump's whims? (all the speculation he wants to be Sec Defense or something)

McConnell to Democrats:
"This is a one Party state, led by the Führer, he answers to no one, his power is unlimited as far as you are concerned."

I viewed that 'interview' NCD.
I feel bad sometimes about my own emotional state at times, but I hate this rotten prick.

Trump is mentally unstable, just watch his press conference today.

Iowans were OK with sending a white supremacist back to the Senate
A guy who was comfortable meeting with white supremacists was elected Governor of Florida
A guy who openly suppressed votes will likely be voted Governor of Georgia.
Democrats made gains yesterday, but we cannot lie to ourselves that we are in normal times. Our bodies are supposed to be telling us that something is off kilter.

There will be no "soft landing" for this nation's politics or economy when the repercussions of this leadership cult finally come to fruition.
by NCD on Wed, 11/07/2018 - 5:45pm
Our fellow Republican citizens know that votes are being suppressed and they simply don’t care. There are former Republicans who realize that Republicans are scum. As you note, in very short time, 70% of the country will be controlled by 30% in small states. This cannot stand. Our fellow Republican citizens saw babies kidnapped at our border. They hear the venomous rhetoric of Donald Trump. Our fellow Republican citizens are not children.

Rachel Maddow reminds us that indicted Republicans Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins we’re both elected in their Republican districts. The values voters.

FWIW, just a tweet with a kinda vague use of "Trump allies" but then on the other hand she wouldn't waste the time unless she thought if of some import:
Maybe more developed coming soon?
