Oh wait, I guess it was some black chick holed up in Cuba for the last 35 years.
"Top terrorist". Guess we need SEAL Team 6 to come out of retirement. Obama once again addresses the "overreach" of the 60's by doubling down.
Could have used this moment to pardon Shakura based on the excesses of COINTELPRO and the doubtfulness of evidence in her conviction.
Might have sought rapprochement with Cuba after 50+ years of embargo and our recent human rights abuses that make us brothers in arms with Fidel's techniques.
But now we might look forward to days when Black Muslims are all suspected terrorists too - get ready for drones over Anacostia.
Once again, Obama feints left, drives right. Not content to be a Rockefeller Republican, he's looking a bit more like Spiro Agnew.
What a disappointment it's been. Looking forward to that most liberal 2nd term.

Assata Shakur was first classified as a domestic terrorist on May 2, 2005, on the 32nd anniversary of the death of the NJ trooper, in which incident she was also shot.
The Presidency changes, and the FBI goes on doing its thing, in this case raising a black grandmother to the top ten, which seems beyond any rational justification. These are the same guys who 'forgot' about the Boston bombers, one of whom they interviewed for ties to terrorism, at the request of the more informed Russians.
Since Shakur, a top ten 'terrorist' has been apparently terrorism free for almost 20 years, if Cuba agrees, maybe we could safely and quickly close GITMO. Let the inmates walk out.

That's an interesting idea - maybe just as Cuba once tried (& partially succeeded) to push on us the worst of the worst with the Mariel boatlift, they can be the isolated gulag for our supposed incorrigibles - instead of our whorehouse of the Caribbean, we can set up terrorist tourism. Obviously if they can keep terrorists terror-free for 30 years, we can save a lot of money by paying Cuba half the estimated $800K-900K per prisoner each year. Likely they can just give each prisoner a bungalow and $500/month and they'll be happy. Everybody wins in the sunny Caribbean climes - cool runnings.
