    American Solidarity

I decided last night to head down to Occupy New Hampshire at noon tomorrow, the 15th.   Apparently there will be concurrent demonstrations happening worldwide tomorrow.

In thinking about a sign to make, and the themes I personally want to promote, I decided on a few simple ideas organized under the heading of "American Solidarity".  I'll post a pic of the sign after I have it made up.

Interestingly, I then read this morning that famed Solidarity leader Lech Walesa might be joining the American protest movement.

Then today, I received a an email from Van Jones's group - also titled "Solidarity".

    I sense an emerging theme!

Thanks for the sign idea. My grandson text me today and asked for a ride to "occupy Bradenton" tomorrow. He is a college student and the word was passed around at school as to where to meet. This will be small town gathering to lend support to the bigger movement. Well I am on my way to the craft store for poster board and a marker.

I hereby render unto Donal the Dayly Comment of the Day Award for this here Dagblog Site, given to all of him from all of me.

    hahahahahah

Dan, I think we have ignition. Be looking forward to your reactions.

Here it is.  It's rough, but serviceable.

Dan, that is one sweet message.  Thank you for making the effort.  Looking forward to hearing how it went.

Live from Occupy Bradenton. Weather is wonderful. About 20 people. Tampa has the largest occupy and most organized in the South East. Go to occupy Tampa on Google for more details. That is all for now.k

Put the Margarita down and clean up your mess below.

Sorry about the triple post. I am doing this from out side. We have grown to.about 60 now. The local service employees union has shown up. Lots of people honking. We have live folk music too. That's all for now.

Just noticed a different slogan emerging:  "Take back Wall Street" as well as other "Take back" themes:  Boston, Chicago, our country.  This has a much better ring to it than occupy and can be more reasonably argued, imo.

Take back could encompass " Claw back"

The banks like Socialism when they need help, but it's all capitalism when the people need help.

They drove the economy to the precipice and then gave themselves lucrative benefits.

Time to "claw back"  the money they paid themselves

The gentleman that has been standing next to me for the hour is an independent and is here because the government is no longer working for the common good. He has been amazed at all the waving and honking we have been getting. Being that we are in a very red district with such positive response, he was wondering just how much more positive it must be in the blue north. He came today because of the coverage in the local news. Last Sunday was the first time they occupied this street corner. That is all for now.

Our organizer is leaving to help at occupy Tampa. There is a large crowd up there and she is needed to help with the logistics. She offered a ride up if anyone wanted to help her. Most of us are a little long in the tooth for that. We can stay until we get tired. We will meet again tomorrow. It has been fun so I will help tomorrow. I can't get over how many people gave us thumbs up. I was only flipped off a few times. We were told not to use our bird finger, just to smile and wave. So I am going to head on home and let the one that came late finish up.
