    CONFUSION, OBFUSCATION & CLARITY

                              CLARITY IN WINE

    There is confusion at times:

It was inevitable. A millionaire Russian politician who claims to have been abducted by aliens, and also happens to be president of the World Chess Federation, has offered $10 million to buy the site of the proposed Cordoba House Muslim cultural center in downtown Manhattan. Like we said, inevitable. …

"I believe that religious conflicts are extremely dangerous in complex times such as ours," Ilyumzhinov wrote in his letter to Bloomberg.”

I mean it looks like a Russian alien, who was actually abducted by illegal aliens, is interfering in our little domestic squabbles. How confusing is that?

There is obfuscation most of the time:

We have all had a taste of this Christine O’Donnell and her insanity:

Meanwhile, reporters are still combing through Lexis-Nexis. O'Donnell thinks of homosexuality as an identity disorder. Homosexuals are "getting away with nudity." And, yes, she once warned Bill O'Reilly about mad scientists creating human-mice hybrids.

    salon.com

Yeah? Well her web site has vanished.

She has ‘matured’ and all those crazy things she said ‘years ago in my twenties’ have gone by the wayside:

Oh, and don't worry about Big Brother monitoring what you do alone in bed. O'Donnell, who is on videotape denouncing masturbation, cleared that up in response to this question: "You have taken a strong stance as to people's private sexual behavior. What do you think is the role of government in regulating that?"

"It's personal," a woman in the audience called out. "I agree, it's personal," O'Donnell said. She said her 1996 comments on the issue came when she was in her 20s and excited about her "newfound" faith. "But I assure you my faith has matured," she said. "And when I go to Washington, D.C., it'll be the Constitution on which I base all of my decisions, not my personal beliefs.”

AND BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Now Mahr is going back to '99 bringing back tapes of his old show. Way back when Ms. O’Donnell was dating witches.

But already Christine O’Donnell is learning about repub obfuscation. She has even cancelled her appearances on Face the Nation and Face the Fox Asshat, both scheduled for tomorrow. Palin had advised her to only appear on Fox but it appears she has taken Angle’s advice and stayed out of the limelight while she regroups.

But once in a great while there is clarity. A repub actually stands up and says exactly what is on his mind:

It sounds so good, and it's such a warm message to say we're not gonna deny anyone from a preexisting condition," Huckabee explained at the Value Voters Summit today. "Look, I think that sounds terrific, but I want to ask you something from a common sense perspective. Suppose we applied that principle [to] our property insurance. And you can call your insurance agent and say, "I'd like to buy some insurance for my house." He'd say, "Tell me about your house." "Well sir, it burned down yesterday, but I'd like to insure it today." And he'll say "I'm sorry, but we can't insure it after it's already burned." Well, no preexisting conditions."

A moment of candor from the evangelical former Arkansas governor. Hard to say how that comports with voting on values, though.

It's worth pointing out, too, that the health care law's individual mandate is in large part meant to make sure people don't wait until they get ill until they buy insurance. But Republicans want to do away with that part of reform as well.

Now maybe Ducky can chime in here with about 50 links on this subject since I have been reading his health care blogs for two years now. He has enlightened me on this subject more than any other writer, professional or not.

But I will wing it for this short rant.

First, repubs do not give one goddamn about humanity. They have not since about 1980 and never will in the future. That is my bet.

Huckleberry will be standing there along with eight to twelve right wing nuts in 2012 for the first of twenty debates no doubt—because the RNC will wish to steal about a thousand hours of free advertising.

He will go on and on about how the Theory of Evilution is destroying our family values and about how only Christ can save you and our nation must become a Christian nation once again (although other repubs obfuscate by talking trash about a Judeo-Christian tradition so as to not piss off the big Jewish repub contributors).

Huckleberry will go on and on about family values and probably get into how Social Security and Medicare and all government programs interfere with family values and blah blah blah. He is not as bad as Gary Bauer, but he is bad enough.

This statement using a property metaphor to describe human suffering really clarifies what it means to be a repub; at least in my mind.

I gotta go back to Christine O’Donnell again to contrast Huckleberry’s position on such matters.

Christine O’Donnell is against all abortions with one exception. If a pregnant woman is dying and there is a choice as to whether or not to save the live of the woman or her fetus, the woman’s family should make that decision. She wont even allow the woman to decide on her own.

See, there is real religion at work here. All life is sacred and blah blah blah….

If a woman is raped and becomes pregnant as a result of that rape, the fetus should never be aborted because it was God’s wish that the woman bear a child. Get it?

So as George Carlin might put it, Christine O’Donnell believes that there is a gray haired and bearded old man up in the clouds somewhere who watches every goddamn thing every human being does on this planet; this gray haired bearded old man tells 7 billion human beings what is right, what is wrong and it is up to us to listen to HIM at all times whether we are working, at rest or in the rest room. Even fantasizing about having carnal knowledge is a sin, a mortal sin and just fantasizing about it shall doom any and all human beings to hell for ever and ever and ever.

I grew up with this Catholic nonsense and made sure my children did not do so. But I UNDERSTAND THIS FROM A PHILOSOPHICAL STANDPOINT.

Normally puberty dispels this type of silly thinking, but people like Christine O’Donnell are so very mentally ill that they never reach the normal state of adulthood.

Huckleberry represents the true evil in my mind. He grew up. He knows it is all bullshit as Al D’Amatto might put it.

Huckleberry will sermonize (since he is an ordained minister, whateverthehell that means) about the sanctity of life; the evils of abortion; and the importance of recognizing that a cell inside of a uterus that has divided into two cells is a human being and that human being has rights.

Then he will turn around and tell us that human beings are like buildings. We depreciate over time. And if there is some defect, preexisting in that building, insurers should not have to pay for losses experienced by the owner of that building.

So, if the water pipes in your home burst, and your castle is destroyed through flooding; and your pipes were not up to par when you purchased the home and purchased your insurance policy on that house; YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO RECEIVE ANY REMUNERATION FOR THAT LOSS!!!

Now assume you and your spouse are twenty five years of age and each of you just achieved your first employment position in the ‘real world’. And with these employments, came a health insurance policy partially paid by the employees and partially paid by the employers.

Assume further that your spouse, a year later experiences a viral infection that causes a heart attack. Further assume that there is a medical record documenting that your spouse had a heart murmur in her teens.

An insurance company will argue that the previous medical record demonstrates a preexisting cardiac condition that was a substantial contributing factor to her current condition and therefore THE INSURER WILL NOT COVER MEDICAL COSTS RELATED TO THIS PREVIOUS CONDITION.

Now, following a year or two of litigation the insurance company loses because your brother in law is an attorney in a big law firm and pursues the company to the ends of the earth. The insurance company appeals and it takes another year to reach the same decision.

Or assume, there is no brother- in-law attorney and the entire matter is dropped; and you and your spouse are SOL.

As another example, assume your 9 year old daughter is in a bicycle accident and suffers injury to her back. Your health insurance policy is three years old. But your daughter was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 4.

You see how this works? And going back to my first example, the health insurance policy might call for mandatory arbitration and you CANNOT EVEN GET INTO COURT TO CLAIM ATTORNEY FEES AND COURT EXPENSES.

This is the real problem with all politicians.

Huckleberry will never be cross examined by a competent attorney for five hours to demonstrate what a goddamnable hypocritical prick he really is.

And you will never see Huckleberry receive 10 good minutes of cross examination by a competent reporter on this issue concerning pre existing conditions and health insurers.

NEVER. IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN NOWHERE NOHOW.

But, you have to admit this much, for one brief shining moment, Huckleberry demonstrated clarity.

We all know now which side he is on!!!

Pre-existing conditions only make sense to us folks who have chronic conditions and know how often Health Insurance companies want to deny us coverage or get us off their plans.   We're the down side of their business ledger. We're the small percentage for whom they have pay out monies instead of simply putting all the ridiculously high premiums directly into their pockets.

The analogy Mr. Huckabee gives is, of course, absurd, (and, as you suggest, evil),  but unfortunately, like all the other damned lies told on Fox News, there are some to whom this will make perfect sense, and they, (who have never been sick a day in their lives), will get their anger up about how those danged sick people are trying to 'jazz' the system by cheating the health insurance companies (Health Insurance Queens?) and forcing the kindly HMOs to raise their rates on everyone else.

Not having such a provision forces chronically ill people to worry whether or not they will lose their coverage, or be denied treatment because they didn't fill out their application correctly.  How the neo-cons can twist something good into something evil is just beyond belief.

F*ck Mike Huckabee and F*ck any reporter on any network who doesn't have the balls to call him on that stupid analogy.

Mr. Smith you are my only commenter tonite. ha. Good to see you again.

My feeling is that THERE ARE NO HUMAN BEINGS ON THIS PLANET WHO DO NOT SUFFER FROM SOME PREEXISTING CONDITION. NONE.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOh. See how mad I get?

hahahahaha. When some millionaire's son gets in a car wreck and there is evidence of preexisting scoliosis, let me tell you something....no jury will buy that shite!!!

But, you have my post nailed because there is no one who would pin him down on this hypocrisy. Chris Matthews, whom he will only rarely confront, would not put four minutes into this.

Although I have been happier with Matthews lately cause he is so mad at the repubs lately--well two full years anyway.

I could write a script that would take ten minutes to deliver and it would pin that bastard down.

of course without further play from MSM it would be worthless.

Damn it is good to see you here!!!

I had much better reaction on our little site.

Another fight song to go along with young Natalie's that you linked.

it's not how you start its how you finish

It is the fight is it not?

    Mendella. Forever.

And you know that lousy coward buchanan will call him a commie even today if given the chance?

Damn you got my ire up this morning. ha!!!

Well, I wonder if those who don't want the community center built are at all concerned about the idea of this wingnut bying this building and what he might want to use it for.. alien and contact and such?

I am also wondering how long it will take before we see Christine O'Donnell photoshopped as a witchdoctor? because wouldn't that only be fair?

Yeah the thing Huckabee seems to miss is that cars and houses are things and they do not die... so much for being pro-life.  The right would like to force a woman to give birth no matter what the circimstances of her pregnancy but once that life is in motion... well screw em, didn't Beck say let em die referring to obese people.  LIfe means nothing to these people once it is 'born', especially if the damned child isn't a 'chosen one' born to wealthy parents who are good capitalists that submit to Fox News and religious brainwashing and care about policies that affect the wealthy.

    WTF?

Because there are zombies amongst us!!!

Aw, DDay! Leave it to you to make the connection: "I mean it looks like a Russian alien, who was actually abducted by illegal aliens, is interfering in our little domestic squabbles."

I missed it until now. Too funny!

Hey Sleepin!!! Just logged on for the day.
