RANTS ON O'REILLY AND OTHER MATTERS!

O’Reilly may grumble to Valerie Jarrett that: “You’re going to have to get people like Jay-Z, Kanye West, all these gangsta rappers, to knock it off. That’s number one.” But it’s hard to tell what, precisely, he’d like them to knock off. Neither of them wear “the hats on backwards,” for the most part, favoring designer labels and suits that are extravagant in their displays of sobriety. If they offer up “terrible rap lyrics,” the values they’re espousing aren’t exactly anti-capitalist, and their gender politics not so far from the vision of a fallen world O’Reilly espouses. If they talk about “the drug,” for Jay-Z, it’s mostly in sketching in his past, rather than advocating the continued selling of those kilos of coke. In fact, O’Reilly’s own views on personal marijuana use don’t seem terribly far out of line from that of most rappers.

It’s the gangsta rappers, it’s the athletes, it’s the tattoo guys,” O’Reilly prophesies darkly. But if he’d relax, and listen to the music that freaks him out, he might find cause to celebrate. Jay-Z and Kanye West are already enthusiastic ambassadors for many of the ideas O’Reilly wishes America would embrace. He’s just too hung up on superficial signifiers like tattoos and cocked hats to notice.

I wish to get into a rant.

Sometimes I wish to ignore the fact that some 'conservatives' have points to make.

I question their motives every goddamn time.

But today, I just wish to discuss some points of agreement as an old man facing imminent death—5 years or twenty years, what the hell is the difference?

I despise O'Reilly for a number of reasons. I usually stay away from his vomit that he spreads all over cable although his average audience is four or five years older than me!

    But....

If you wear a Mohawk hairdo and have tats on your face; GOOD LUCK!

And if you decide to dye your hair purple and then apply for a job; good fricken luck!

And if you decide to leave High School in the tenth grade, good fricken luck!

And if you do really wear pants that fall down all the time and you use the 'f' word all the time; good frickin luck.

Yeah but that millionaire cheats on his wife, cheats on his taxes and feigns a belief in some Almighty contends that America should get into more wars when you have never been in one....

    Fine!

You got me there, but you are going to have a very minimal chance of getting a good paying job.

And selling weed or stolen goods is not a way that 99% of those entrepreneurs are ever going to see daylight!

President Obama has just addressed this problem; even though he has been addressing this problem all of his public life.

O'Reilly would attack him because our President will not put rappers in jail?

O'Reilly would have us believe that if we could only keep people from sneezing, we would have no flu epidemics!

O'Reilly will seldom attack the right wing militias or the Nugents or the Hannity's for that matter.

    Sneezes are reactions.

Hatred and deep deep hatred of society is a reaction.

As far as I am concerned the first 'rapper' was Bob Dylan.

Johnny's in the basement mixin up some medicine and I'm on the pavement thinkin about the government...

Look out kid, no matter what ya did....(*)

But even the primary purpose of this post is not to attack O'Reilly. I find him to be a bully, a hypocrite, a lying bastard, a powerful person, an immensely rich person with absolutely no sympathy or no empathy or no compassion for those who have not won the lottery of life.

This man is absolutely sure that he arose from his 'middle class life' (and his history is certainly eschewed) because he is a genius and a family man and a hard worker and a wonderful American and a man with real insight into the human condition and....he is sure that HE DID IT ON HIS OWN!

    And it is all bullshite.

    BUT...

Sometimes there are arguments present in other arenas that I eschew just because I question the motives of others.

    SO HERE GOES:

Here is a right wing squib talking about how badly Krauthammer is being treated by the liberal press:

In an editor by commentator Charles Krauthammer, he brought into question the “reality” of the concept of global warming. This instantly drew the ire of global warming alarmists. Ah, now that the Olympics are nearly over, the global warming debate is ready to begin again.

This is just a squib and I get no more than this because one has to donate a hundred bucks or something to get into the discussion.

    Global Warming alarmists!

    Fine

Here is the Washington Post link on all of this.

But the WP lets me peak in from time to time without sending them a hundred bucks.

The Kraut simply said that he is against unregulated CO2 getting into the air. It is just he questions the scientists who would forecast doom over the next 90 years (and I remind my readers that I will not be available to see the results of those forecasts!)

I do not like Kraut. I have never liked Kraut since he left the McGovern candidacy.

But we do not know how the atmosphere, how the earth itself will appear in 2100.

And, if I were to have the opportunity (which peasants never achieve) to ask Kraut about other poisons like Methane and Arsenic and Mercury and....a host of other poisons being released into our air and water...well there might be some contention.

The Chinese go to work in many of their municipalities wearing masks and they are not part of the fire departments of these cities.

Smog was the big thing when I was a kid, and we had acid rain.

    LA looks better today.

Is LA and its environ better today? Yes.

And that is because we now have an EPA that we did not have in them old days, and our atmosphere—at least when the weather patterns do not send us the poisons from China—is better.

So pollution must be our primary goal.

If you cannot breath the air and drink the water....what is the use?

Now, pretend I have a business.

    I make plastic bags.

And each plastic bag cost 1 cent to manufacture and I sell those bags for 5 cents?

But the cost, the real cost that our citizenry experiences is ten cents.

Our consumers might experience two cents in costs but what if the plastic bags cost us as a nation $0.20?

WHO SHOULD PAY FOR THE DIFFERENCE?

If fracking gives an oil company a cost of $50.00 for a barrel or some other quantity and that oil company receives $100.00 for that quantity well the company 'wins' fifty bucks? But there are environmental consequences for that fracking and it ends up costing Americans $200.00 per barrel or whatever....WHO PAYS?

See, there is no problem with seeing what is happening right now in comparison to what will happen a hundred years from now?

Kraut has a point, and we must address it, regardless of how we deal with his extremely passive/aggressive style.

Kraut has a point, and we must address this point, regardless of how we view his motives.

It was 3 degrees F as a high today and we shall see -30 below tonight. And that is about the same extremes that I saw 90 days ago.

Actually, today the 2nd, I awoke to 29 below zero, but we got to +12F. Tomorrow it will be +20?

You aint never goin to convince the people up here that we are entering a global warming period.

I get the Polar Vortex and all of that.

But we live in a capitalistic funded democracy; and there aint no way we win this argument—at least this year.

Now 'the left' has changed or amended its original message to Climate Change rather than Global Warming. hahahahahah

All I am sayin is that Kraut has a point.

So lets just keep goin after pollution.

It is there, it is real, it is documentable, it is graphable, it is FOR REAL.

You cannot argue that scientists might ….

    OKAY, ENOUGH ON KRAUT

    Remember I detest this sombitch.

    But he has a point.

I just see clearly that those on the right will never see that our President is making the same point!

We must attack capitalistic argument with capitalistic argument.

The capitalist bets on some enterprise.

All we have to do is make sure that the capitalist pays all charges relating to that enterprise.

I purchase a ship load of shrimp and I transport it to California and sure enough, fifteen children die from mercury poisoning.

I HAVE TO PAY THE DAMAGES TO THE PARENTS OF THOSE CHILDREN!

Who really disagrees with this contention?

I provide restaurants with beef; and now it is discovered that the beef is perverted?

I have to pay back the restaurants the cost of their loss.

That is simple math to me!

    Who would disagree with this.

And if somehow, that perverted beef ends up in a consumer's stomach and that consumer ends up with medical bills approaching a hundred grand, I HAVE TO PAY THOSE MEDICAL COSTS.

    THERE IS NO FREE RIDE.

THE RIGHT ALWAYS TALKS ABOUT A FREE LUNCH FOR CHRISSAKES!

I can purchase insurance, I can oversee my operation with protocols providing for good testing performed by scientific experts, I can do a number of things in order to protect my clients/customers and my operation.

But there is always a cost and there is no free ride.

Or at least there is no free ride unless you work on Wall Street!

I mean you are a Spanish Investor in the 17th century, and your ship fails at sea, unless you are insured you are screwed!

    THAT IS CAPITALISM.

I got into a live chat back in October of 2012 by accident really.

I just saw the election of 2012 looming and there was this hurricane looming and people all over the East from this Dagblog site just honed in!

Can you imagine 50 million folks being attacked by an Act of God a couple of weeks before a national election?

Now we are confronted with what repubs say all along.

Fed monies will be stolen by crooks and imposters and....whatever.

Now we have Christie, who happens to be a repub (now) using and abusing those Federal Funds in felonious ways after hugging my President?

Kornacki is my favorite guy on cable.

I read him religiously over the years and he ends up in some slot on week-end MSNBC Show thru a fluke really (after Hayes was promoted) at 7 AM on week-ends even though some lefties are mad that a minority person was not promoted. Hahahah. Kornacki was saved in my mind anyway, with the promotion of one of my favorite MSNBC's lady, Melissa Harris-Perry.

Well, for the last month or so, Kornacki shows up all the frickin time on MSNBC because he was born in NJ, has studied in NJ, was monitored in NJ and knows all about frickin NJ. Hahahhaahahh

You can see him just before Melissa Harris-Perry! On the week ends before more prison highlights.

Well....all this Fed money that was supposed to go to 'victims' of Hurricane Sandy, why was so much money being sent to pricks like the old time Rockefellers and such?

See, Federal funds are lost thru graft!

That is all I got right now.

Maybe I go into a chapter two or three or whatever...

The right has some real cogent arguments with regard to politics and with regard to the real function of Federal Government vs. State Governments and vs. municipal governments.

    There is an argument here.

Again, that is all I got right now.

There are real arguments to be addressed in this country.

And Dylan Ratigan just throws up his hands and says:

    Watch Maher @

(Except my link goes to the 28th instead of the 21st.)

I get his emails all the time because he intrigues me.

Avlon has just gone to the dark side, I mean he cannot even countenance the Tea PARTY. hahahahahaha

But Dylan just refuses to see THE DIFFERENCE. hahahhahahaha

    WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

I do not have all the answers.

    But I know this.

When Dylan says that there are minimal differences between what repubs and dems do when in office; I just do not see the minimal.

Can you just imagine the type of legislation that would have been passed if Mitt had won?

I really have no argument with that perspective.

My next blog will address why I am in real disagreement with Mr. Ratigan.

But I do underline what Dylan Ratigan's real message is.

And that is that we must address these issues as individuals on the municipal and county levels as citizens where 'our vote' still counts.

But repubs in many many states, take away the vote and Dylan seems to say:

    THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!

NO IT IS YOUR PROBLEM DYLAN AND IT IS MY PROBLEM AND IT IS OUR NATION'S PROBLEM.

    The end for now!

(Sorry, too damn long, give me a couple days with nothing to do and well....)

    Comments

All that cold weather and of coarse you run out of things to do.  The temperature here got close to 80 degrees today.  I just thought I would throw that in.  Free time is a luxury for me.

I have been following the climate and weather real close this past year.  I guess because I find it interesting.  We went to 405 ppm of Co2 last week in the sampling being done from some mountain top in Hawaii.  That is even higher then in the Panacean period when the earth was hot. It was only 400ppm of Co2.  I guess scientist got that out of the ice drilling samples they did.  It takes the Gulf Stream a 1000 years to make it trip around the world and come back the the Gulf.  I guess it will be spreading BP's oil spill and pollution around for a long time.

There was 3 major storms in the North Atlantic that formed there last December.  They had Cat 5 low pressures in their centers.  One hit England Christmas Eve and rearranged some coast line of rocky cliffs. This is not something that they are used to and very rare.   They have been dealing with flooding all winter.  These kinds of storms form in the central part of the Atlantic normally coming off of Africa's Cap Verde. They spin heat off of the warm waters around the equator and land in North America.  Some become fish storms in the North Atlantic and run out of energy to become a low. Those lows will make it into England's as a weather event.

Now the scientist are trying to understand all of this.  They are seeing a high pressure dome that sat for almost a year now on the west coast blocking the normal pattern of the jet stream.  High pressure domes will sometime form off of Florida call the Bermuda High, but it will only last a season not a year.  So the block jet stream is doing loop de loops and twirling all around like a bad hair perm. The polar vortex now has a split personality instead of one.  The gulf stream is pulling the sea ice away from Greenland shores because it has moved away from it's normal pattern.  The sea level fell last summer because of the evaporation from heat that created atmospheric rivers that dump water in Asia's monsoon seasons at record high levels and one that dumped rain going up the east coast from Florida for 3 weeks that cause flooding.  The flooding in Colorado was also from a misplaced monsoon. The storms off of Cape Verde hit dry air in the upper atmosphere and didn't produce much hurricanes.  The Arctic seems to have moved to Upper Minnesota this winter and Australia is hotter then Hades.

When things finally warm up we have tornado season to face.  Lets hope it will not be as bad as last year.

GOP hasn't got a clue.  We ended up with a farm bill that does nothing for sustainable farming and cut food stamps.  Our food prices will continue to go up because of the drought in the west.  There isn't any snow in the western mountains that feed the streams and aquifers.   Our beef production is now down to 1950 level.  My grocery store beef section was almost empty this weekend.  Steak is now $14 a pound and ground beef is over $4 a pound in my area.  I bought pork shoulders that was on sale and cut them up in roasts, chops and ground it.  My freezer is full for the month.  Pork was actually cheaper then chicken.  I am lucky because I have the equipment to do that.  Spending all day Sunday playing butcher and going to the farm on Saturday morning and canning the rest of the day wore me out. But I am grateful that I can do that.  Most in my shoes can't.

Florida had their first Moral Monday in Tallahassee today.

I love it when I send you into a rant.

Bacon has gone up 100% over the last year or so. Of course bacon is bad for you.

Chicken has gone up 100% over the last year or so, I lost the link but you already know this.

Coffee has gone up 200% in the last 6 years? or 5 years?

I received a $17/month raise in SS this year. hahahaha

I love your rant about the weather. I know it is nuts, that is the weather and not you.

I do get confused when all this rain hits Cal and yet there are all these blogs about waterless Cal. Hell, the more rain the merrier.

Again, I do not argue against Global Warming or Climate Change.

We just got to sell the concept better.

By June or July of this year, ships will take advantage of the fact that we have no North Pole ice anymore. All these countries will take advantage of the perfect chance to save money by shipping from the north.

Global Warming is a fact. And the capitalists already are taking advantage of it.

When, in 50 years, coastal areas of this planet (representing 70% of all mankind) will have to adjust....And look to the Netherlands?

Anyway, thanks for a gooooood gooood rant!

We dems must argue against ourselves and leave the repubs to seek remedies that are a century old. hahahah

Well, just imagine all the migration out of Southern California into red states in the next decade.  LOL..sorta the reverse of "Grapes of Wrath."  Only they will be all Democrats flipping the red states blue.

The experts don't see an end to the drought anytime soon.  It could last many more years. A big chunk of our produce comes out of Southern California. So in the mediate future there will be more hunger for the poor because of prices going up.

Happy Fat Tuesday.  It is national pancake day.  Pancakes for dinner with banana and pecans and home made sausage patties.

Is there any place in America that you would consider the best place to live ie weather and food wise. Creature comforts? Or is the whole planet to volatile?

Before we run out of time and food production becomes an emergency.

I'd like to see a fresh water pipeline, extended along the coast from the Columbia River towards California. to end their drought.

Laws of nature shows us that water seeks it's own level and this law like gravity   would assist us in getting water where we need it. Another aid to serve the goal  of moving the water; utilize the force of the Columbia' fresh water as it flows out to the sea.

Is Sea level the same all along the West coast? From Washington to San Diego?

Support our food producing capacity by improving Americas plumbing infrastructure.

If the Keystone pipeline is promoted as producing jobs, so would the freshwater pipeline.

Maybe it would help on the issue of beach erosion too?

We as a country waste our precious resources.

There are plenty of approaches for this country to do but we don't have the political will to face the fact that our lives are about to change.  We have the religious right that has a big say in the GOP that is looking forward to the end of the world.  Weather is going to continue to be more violent and more extreme.  We have to try not polluting the world with hydro carbons but again the political will is not there.  Corporations don't see anything past their bottom line of profits,

This is the biggest issue the world faces right now and we are pretending it isn't happening.

O'Reilly is a racist surprised that Black diners at Sylvia's Restaurant in Harlem were able to use eating utensils and not curse during meals. O'Reilly is a wingnut icon just like his fellow racist Ted Nugent.

O'Reilly will really loose it when he learns that the US State Department has a hip-hop ambassador, Toni Blackmon. Blackmon works on subversive programs like fighting violence against women in war-torn countries like the Congo.

The Conservative response to "My Brother's Keeper" was predictably pathetic. Because the program focuses on Black youth, Obama is a racist for excluding Whites. Of course when Obama doesn't focus on Black youth he is criticized by the same Conservatives like Jennifer Rubin.

Yeah Rush is all up with that reverse racism again screaming about 12 Years a Slave...

Of course only old men listen to him anymore for the most part.

O'Reilly could give a damn that the right wing can communicate hatred and racism and other filth with impunity but wishes that someone would shut the hip-hop rapping music industry down.

It is fun to watch him yell and scream at his guests once in awhile though.

Eventually these cretins will die out; the problem is that these rich white guys continue their diatribes into their 90's. hahaha

Typical of deep Conservative scholarship Rush didn't see "12 Years A Slave"

    Conservative madness

Here are Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson arguing that there is too much white guilt in the GOP and the Democratic Party is the new KKK, but with minorities. It seems somewhat schizophrenic.

I caught your link and damn...

I do have a theory though.

The think tanks on the right just told all their customers:

The best action is a reaction.

So, with all the responses from viewers, the think tanks just figured out that sticks and stones....

So, if we call them all NAZI's or Fascists or whatever....

Then just call the responders the same!

So I just ran across Tucker doing the same damn thing.

All liberals are just attempting to be Ku Klu Klansmen but ...

    http://rolandmartinreports.com/blog/2014/03/raw-story-tucker-carlson-alex-jones-democratic-party-kkk-minorities/

So words or labels become meaningless?

It's like when Nugent says that the President is a fascist.

All these fascist pricks have receive so many communiques calling them these words that they just fought back.

I could see Hitler calling all his enemies fascists. hahahaha

Here's a present for you Mr. Day. Please enjoy.

This is a month late, and I am sure I hit this link a month ago but did not comment.

I wrote about this years ago, but my Dad would complain about the N%$#@RS all the time and yet he made all his money selling used cars to Black Folks.

But read Mark Twain and he used the 'N' word all the time and just despised the Native Americans. I assume he came across dead bodies of whites due to his travels through the West.

I also would point out, as I have throughout the last six years that whilst we in white Richfield, MN would collect monies to help the 'coloreds' in the olden days, peeps in Arkansas and elsewhere would collect monies to help the Native Americans in the North.

    hahahahahah

As you already know, half of our troops from Minnesota went into the War against the South and half went to destroy the Native Americans.

There are no 'clean hands' as they used to say in the common law.

But what do we do in 2014 and how do we make things right?

We will never make things right.

    That is the answer.

Some 'Tribes' are certainly doing better due to Supreme Court decisions over the years allowing gambling. Of course White Folks have done just fine with this bologna.

I had an Ojibwa woman give me a ride half way home one day a long time ago and she 'got her check' and we spoke about it.

But damn, the drug problems and the health problems and the lack of Federal relief that had been promised over the last two hundred years to Native Americans is evidence of a great sin committed by this country.

I am not sure why this old comment got to me, but it gives me a chance to rant about things I have not thought about for awhile.

I am going to write a blog about our wonderful history as expressed in these new Southern Texts for children.

I am just amazed at what these texts relate.

At least the 'boomers' were exposed to some truths, even if we were brought up in this bubble of suburbia.

I still love this country and its real history. If there really is a real history.

    And I am belaboring this.

I just must look at human development throughout the planet.

We have committed all the sins of Europe and yet, we created something new.

    That is all I got.

Flower, a great link that I never ended up  publishing in terms of my feelings.

At one time there were political forces in this country who wished to give the Black Folks forty acres and a mule and yet, what have we ever offered the Native Americans but casinos, casinos where the White Men profited.

    I dunno!
