    Trumpamania

Over at TPM, I wrote a piece about my enjoyment of Trump's using pro wrestling style rhetorical tactics against his fellow Republicans.  While I would, of course, like to see a steel chair, lead pipe or figure four leglock involved...

Do let me know what you think of my piece!

Milking the Trump cow, I see ;). Seriously, I like the angle. Too bad Broder isn't around to humble himself before the Trump juggernaut like all the other politico-pundits who wouldn't deign to cover pro-wrestling storylines but cannot avert their eyes from the Donald show.

PS Nice front-page callout from Josh

I was thinking of Jack Germond the other day.  I would have loved to still have him around for some of this.

Now I just feel dirty and guilty.

If you don't milk the Trump, the Trump milks you.

Actually, even if you do milk the Trump, the Trump might...

No... it's all the wrong joke here.

It's a shame that the clean fun and entertainment artistry of professional wrestling would be sullied by a Republican candidate plagiarizing its traditions for political gain. Excellent and revealing essay.

Is nothing sacred from  exploitation by these people?

The only sacred things, it seems, are:

    • Jet Flyin'
    • Limo Ridin'
    • Kiss Stealin'
    • Wheelin' and Dealin'

    Son of a gun.

    Great writing.  I enjoyed it.

    Thank you!

So great, Michael.  And congrats on the TPM get.  My lovely, kind grandmother was, for reasons we never understood,  a wrestling fanatic in the fifties--when we still thought all those moves were real and not brilliantly choreographed.  There might have been a time when people thought the same thing about Trump but I don't know that for a fact.  My first look at Trump was on The Apprentice, and his tour through his luxury Manhattan apartment.  It was hilariously over the top--both the apartment and his bragging about how much everything cost him.  It was the first clue that there was no need to ever take him seriously.

But this now:  I'm pretty sure Trump isn't scripting his days in the center ring.  He's flying by the seat of his pants, fueled by his high-octane ego, and much of the fascination is in wanting to be there when he finally crashes.  (Mixed metaphors, I know--I don't know wrestling lingo!)

OH YOU AINT LISTENING TO ME ANYWAY. HAHAHA I just saw this over the last few days: http://<iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/N8i5NLyXZdc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Just Gorgeous, Michael.

To the management---is anyone else having a problem with the cursor---I get body slammed when I try to paragraph after ending a sentence.

Dammit, the cursor went back to the beginning and I had to paragraph down with the down arrow.

I do not know how to do this anymore. Might be Windows 10.

Sorry you're having problems, Oxy.  Anyone else?

I'm not having any trouble paragraphing, as you can see.  I have a new notebook and I have the option to download Windows 10 but I'm a little reluctant to do that.  I'm just now getting used to Windows 8.1.  I really like 7 better.  I hope that's not your problem!  If it is, please let me know.  I'm sitting on the fence here. . .

Thanks, Ramona. I'll let you know if it's a Windows 10 glitch.

Had something like this happen, on a Mac, using Chrome, in Gmail yesterday.  Restarting the browser cleared it up.

Usually when you see something like that it is a browser problem. Windows 10 has a new browser called edge.  It is real buggy right now. But, you can still use Internet Explorer.  They still have it in 10 but it is hidden away.  Here is a video on it. It is worth watching just for the information.

The reason for the free down load is to get lots of user so the other software developers will be motivated to design their software for 10.  So your favorite browser like Chrome or Foxfire is trying to upgrade now and with that comes a few bugs.

Here is a video on the new Firefox that came out on Aug. 12.
