Maybe, but I think the biggest significance is for the first time in 2 years, someone else is controlling the news cycle, and The Donald's back on his heels. Gobsmacked and barely able to respond. And don't expect a huge media lovefest anymore - they know the charm's rubbing off, and Donald may pull eyeball stills, but it's only to watch him fall primarily.

well it's only round 2, but Bannon just got some real pain. Who's gonna pay for the fun now?

A NPR Fresh Air in September had former MI6 Brit spy and novel writer Jean Le Carre. He said right wing plutocrats (like the Mercers, Koch) have common interests with Russian plutocrats in destroying democratic systems. Especially ours.
Bannon calling Don Jr. actions unpatriotic and traitorous damages their stooge Trump, not surprising Mercer would cut the $$.

This *is* fun. I like the idra that an NDA is kicking in where what happens in
VegasVersailles stays in Versailles. From the people who demanded extreme transparency from Hillary. I imagine Bannon can find someone like Thiel to pay his lawsuit costs. Information must be free, bwahahaha!by PeraclesPlease on Thu, 01/04/2018 - 1:41am
This might explain why plutocrats like Mercer and Thiel will not give Bannon a dime. Bannon wanted to raise taxes on the ultra-rich.
Also note:
where are the trolls?
there have to be trolls?
The only single one I saw in comment sections was "Wolfe is a liar, he makes stuff up". If so, why does Bannon not deny them?

Bannon is backtracking. He now calls Trump “a great man” Bannon says he stands by Trump every day.

Bannon, "Please don't cut me off the right wing welfare plutocrat $$$."

The Donald is gloating

The Liars Paradox, Cohen at wapo.
Until recently, the famous liar’s paradox was a liar saying, “I am lying.” Now, though, it has to be when any of Donald Trump’s friends or associates claims not to have called the president an ignoramus, a liar, an egomaniac or heroically unsuited for the presidency. Their choice is either to confirm the obvious or to appear a liar ....As every journalist knows, news is not that a dog bit a man but that a man bit a dog. In the same vein, it would be news if someone confided to an author or journalist that Trump was a reasonable man, self-effacing, considerate of others, cautious in his approach to major decisions, knowledgeable about the grand issues of national security or, even, aware that his hero Andrew Jackson did not live to the Civil War.

To be precise, Bannon said Trump was the "Greatest Douche he'd ever met". Trump thought he said "Duce". Touché.

Trump’s lawyers wanted to challenge the publishing of the book. The result, instead of being released on Tuesday, it will be released tomorrow (Friday). My weekend Kindle reading is now set.

Just remember Wolff is a serial exaggerator/bullshitter himself. I'm happy for Trump to take on water, but don't need to lose my own judgment.
by PeraclesPlease on Thu, 01/04/2018 - 7:56pm
I just find it funny that Trump is involving himself in criticizing the book. Bannon has not yet said that the book contained inaccuracies about what he told Wolff. I expect that the book has
holeslies in other details.by rmrd0000 on Thu, 01/04/2018 - 8:18pm
I'm worried it's just more Overton Window, that all this behavior using Wolff's kind of not quite accurate, not quite hard enough finagling will just trivialize and acclimate the public again to The Donald - much like PussyGate faded in strength.

Robert Mercer backs Trump over Bannon. Bannon’s role at Breitbart May be in jeopardy.
