Former US Speaker of the House Jim Wright was blocked from voting by the new restrictive Texas Voting ID laws. All Americans should be outraged by the behavior of the GOP in restricting the right to express grievances with the government through the vote.
The law also kept Texas State Senator and Gubernatorial candidate from voting initial. Her probable Republican opponent also had problems vomiting under the ne restrictive laws.
Federalist Society members on the Supreme Court made a conscious decision to revert back to the days of White Citizens Councils being in charge of voting and imposing poll taxes to suppress votes when they gutted the Voting Rights Act.
Wright and Davis have enough income and aides to help them fight voter suppression many other voters do not.
Comments
Ironically self-defeating in making it harder for the senior citizen demographic.
