Here's a little update on this story...because, god help me, I just cannot look away.

Employees in the House Business Office began taking possession of documents, laptop computers and servers containing Courser and Gamrat’s state email accounts on Friday and continued over the weekend, Cotter said.

Cotter ordered an investigation into Courser and Gamrat just hours after The Detroit News first revealed Friday that Courser sought the help of a House employee to distribute a fictitious email alleging he had a homosexual affair in order to make allegations of an affair with Gamrat look tame by comparison.

Cotter, R-Mount Pleasant, said the House’s computer servers preserved all electronic records in Courser’s and Gamrat’s systems.

There might be a little snag in this so-called investigation. (Republicans investigating Republicans.) Further down in the article, it says that Courser and Gamrat did most of their official business using private email accounts and cell phones.

...the representatives didn't routinely use their state email accounts.

"Courser and Gamrat conducted state business almost exclusively through private email accounts and private cellphones,” Allard told The News.

So, how are they supposed to investigate that? How are they supposed to find out if state resources were misused by these two perversely Christian public servants if most of their official business was conducted by private communications? There is no mention of their private communications being seized by officials.

Yeah, they're gonna skate on this.
