Shakespeare Dallas, in Texas, has had 90 emails, while Shakespeare & Company in Massachusetts has had nearly 50, plus about 10 angry phone calls."It's a case of mistaken identity," said Raphael Parry, the artistic director at Shakespeare Dallas.
"Don't blast everyone who's in theatre or the arts. It's unbelievable. It's shocking. People need to do their research before they blast off." He and his staff have received emails including "I hope you die and so do your family" and "You truly are a bunch of freaks... We should send all you freaks to ISIS. They would eliminate your stench on this earth with real knives."

The Core GOP Base has very short memories, and are uneducated infinitely reprogrammable idiots exploited and controlled by the multi-billion dollar right wing media empire, in which corporations and individual purveyors make millions and billions keeping them ignorant and angry. For those reasons they comprise a bigger threat to America than Russia or China.

True. You have Alex Jones fans who believe that he proved his points during the Megan Kelly interview.

All part of the process of creating controversial art. If you can't take the heat, make something pretty instead.
Or do it extremely well, including fanning a lot of flames, and win in the end:

Yes, well one notable historic story about "bad" publicity: Chris Offli's paintings with elephant dung are worth a fortune these days due to oligarchs and Republican billionaires bidding them up. Would have never happened without Rudy Guilani and Bill Donohue and assorted conservative talking heads helping label the once young unknown artist as trying to shock when he was actually doing nothing but being reverential.
P.S. African contemporary art from Africa happens to be really hot right now among the international monied class. Because it often uses stuff like machine gun parts and shell casings and like blood and bottle caps...go figure
