An art dealer died during a fire at Trump Tower. Cause of death has not been reported. The residential floors of the building do not have sprinklers. Trump lobbied against putting sprinklers put in existing multilevel buildings. While other buildings were required to install sprinklers, but Trump and other landlords were able to get their older buildings from having to have sprinklers installed. The buildings were grandfathered in for a sprinkler exemption. We await further details on the fire.

Within 2 floors of the current blaze, just 1 year ago, and the video I saw had quite large flames lucking up the side of the building. Once again, guests not asked to leave. Strange.

It is inconceivable that a President who owns a building in which a person died (and firemen injured) from a fire would defend his building rather than express condolences to the victim's family. But then this is an inconceivable President.

He lobbied against sprinklers - against them before he was for them, it seems
The 1999 story here. (ironic - the fire started in the Caulkin apartment - you know, that actor kid from "Home Alone 2" that Donald had his famous cameo in?)
You can take the lord out of the slum, but you can't take the slumlord out of the lord.
