The dystopian future promised by the Citizens United decision is upon us. It reminds me of the bad old days when energy tycoons like John D. Rockefeller bought control of state governments to facilitate their plundering of national resources. Read this important and disturbing article.

It has been disturbing. Florida has been quietly dropping all the regulations for reduction of air pollution of the power companies. The power companies have been doing what ever they want and increase charges for their services.
I am one of these goofy people who looks every day at the satellite feeds that show pollution and weather. You can see the polluters with their big foot print with the close ups. Most of them are in the south east.
I guess we will see how much graft the AG's can make from the energy companies.

The corruption is too deeply entrenched.
Maybe in the future we'll see another "I cant breathe" movement focused towards polluters?

Thanks for the reference. The comparison to the robber barons of old is apt. Sure looks like a promising book segue for you.
Robber Barons rise from the dead.
Attorneys General Eat Gas at the Fountainbleu
Take my Attorney General---please!
Robber Barons blowing smoke in your face.
Pruitt blows smoke up your state.
Attorneys General, Seriously?
Seriously, looks like a natural.

Ha. I'd love to be able to put together a book about this, but I lack the investigative reporting skills, and I don't think there's a sufficiently compelling story to draw readers.
