    ABC 20/20 Young Guns - January 27, 2014

    .

    A real eye opener here . . .

I didn't see this 20/20 but my dear Donna who works in Special Education told me about it. Some may think it sensationalist journalism. I didn't...

At 1 minute and 38 seconds into the video at the following link it shows a hidden camera experiment conducted at an elementary school in St. Petersburg Florida. Is there any other Dag members who saw this? And if so, your reaction?

Ducky we need more publication along these lines.

I think I have written five or six blogs on this subject over the last two or three years.

    I have a mean streak.

I mean I just read today where another idiot shot his toe off whilst cleaning his gun.

I think it was last week when some idiot shot his own nuts off.

But children bringing guns into a school and the gun falls off from some back pack...

Then Think Progress or Salon publishes a note about parents being brought to justice because some six year old finds a gun in drawer and shoots his sibling.

We have as many guns in this nation as citizens.

    We cannot walk this back.

Hell, I wrote about 'buy back' programs sponsored by local police and the guns confiscated end up being sold on the web.

At any rate, thanks for your post!

Kids will do this because this is how they learn and discover.  Unfortunately we have adults who don't understand that they can't turn this off and on in children. You are risking the lives of your children when you bring a gun into a home. No matter how much you think you have them trained they will do what comes natural and play with them.

It is a health issue because we are killing more kids and people then with any other disease in this country.

I am not sure about the one in three homes that have guns stats.  They may be stretching the stats on this.  Reason I say this, is gun hoarders skew the stats on this.

My mother, who also worked in special ed, had one second grade student who shot and killed another of her second grade students with a gun he found (his uncle's) during his birthday party. No maliciousness, just curiosity. So very sad.

Hey Duckie.  I say your comment on youtube.  The site you referenced seems to be limiting my access, so I can't check it out.  Sad, but even more sad is the e-mail chain with TPM and staff that followed. Some really odd stuff that TPM readers and primates should see.
