Time For Some Country

I've always heard that country music is so authentic. Never really believed until now.

What Republicans Would Have Us Believe

This will be a short blog, really just a question. I'm not going to try to analyze every fact or theory of the many conspiracy theories out there. The thing is what it all amounts to is that the right wing would have us believe that the democrats with very little power, with Trump and the republicans controlling the presidency and both houses of congress were able to start a fraudulent investigation that resulted in several of Trump's associates being falsely charged with crimes they didn't commit and were able to get convictions that sent them to jail.

Chappelle Sticks and Stones

There's been a lot of talk on Dave Chappelle's newest stand up show. No one seems to see it quite the way I do. There's this modern trend among comedians to engage in political or social commentary. It started with Lenny Bruce followed by Carlin and Richard Pryor. The audience seems to want it, almost demands it, as seen by the ratings plunge of Fallon, the least political comedian. Most of those who left went to Colbert and Seth Meyers. There's this thing that comedians do. They get very serious in the midst of their jokes like they're sending a message, making a real social commentary.

I just can't vote for a woman

Sorry dag bloggers but we have to face the reality that a woman can't do what's needed in a debate with Trump. Punch him in the face. Biden is the only nominee that promises to beat Trump to a bloody pulp if he so much as walks to close to him. He claims a long history of punching people in the mouth as evidence to back up his ability to fuck up Trump.

some thoughts about music

I don't understand anger over music. I used to go to NYC once a month. My girlfriend had a flute lesson, after we'd go to a museum. Later we'd go to a music event, usually an avant-garde jazz bar with a live band. Some times I enjoyed it, some times not. I didn't get pissed if I didn't get into it. When I can't get into a musical performance I conclude I don't know enough to grasp it or it's not very good. I keep listening and studying to see if I can understand it better.

why I'm still a virgin

I have claimed that I had sex with my high school sweetheart when I was 17. After carefully looking at my story I've come to the conclusion that I must be lying.

For starters, I can't remember basic details of the experience of losing my virginity. I'm not sure whose house it was in. I claim it was one of the most important days of my life but I can't remember what day it was or even the month. I'm not even certain it happened when I was 17. I might have been 16, almost 17, or just barely 18. I can't blame these memory lapses on inebriation as I was sober at the time.

On The Lecture Circuit

Here's what I know about the lecture circuit from being a part of it back in 82. I was a salaried employee, which in that world meant I was a step above the people who got paid an hourly wage, in a mid level national computer company. When my team got sent out to Indianapolis or Colorado Springs we were on an expense account. We didn't stay at Trump Towers quality hotels but we sure didn't get put up at a Motel 6. We didn't eat at diners. The company paid for fancy restaurants. I still remember the coconut breaded shrimp, the lobster, the filet mignon. I'm not talking about Red Lobster or Olive Gardens. We went to quality restaurants that I haven't been able to afford since.

Is Trump a Racist?

I've seen a lot of discussion on this question this week. The right has been making the claim that Trump is correct when he pointed out that there was violence on both sides. The left that one cannot make a moral equivalency between those who protest for white supremacy and those who counter protest. I have just one small point to make on the question.

Trump claimed at his last news conference on the issue that he watched all the videos of the Charlottesville protests, better than you all did, he told the reporters. He claimed the protests on Friday night were peaceful and about the statues.

covering the border wall with solar panels

Trump has been talking up putting solar panels on his border wall. As usual this is a stupid idea used by Trump as propaganda to appeal to democrats. Since democrats accept the science on climate change and support renewable energy Trump supposes they will support his border wall if it's covered in solar panels. This off the cuff bullshit isn't workable due to the science of electric transmission.
