this one has CNN using a fun headline:

yes, you should click on it, for among other things, there's that Kelly said in a staff meeting
and
and
etc.

Woodward has been a fairly regular guest on the Sunday news show on Fox. He leans conservative and fit in well there. I wonder what they're going to do with this.

The official pushback so far:
and earlier Maggie retweeted this from the Washington Examiner White House reporter as regards their problem:
as well as Jonathan Swan basically saying the same thing
and retweeted same Washington Examiner reporter reporting that Dowd is already denying a quote Woodward has:

Also this scuttlebutt:

Trump's comments in exclusive Daily Caller interview:
An interview about which EmptyWheel tweeted this (and Media Matters retweeted):

So Kellyanne couldnt get Woodward into the Oval Office, but Daily Caller, Fox News, no prob. "You should've called the front desk, Bob, I've got receptionists." Or met him in a parking garage somewhere in DC - Trump likes that mystery stuff.

you're falling too deep into Trump imagination world for even my tastes, I think I'll just stick with reality:

Aw, they've had their spats in the past but look, they're back working together again on the big stuff:

Reminds me of that wrestling scene in Brüno where the 2 wrestlers are finally hugging (and the crowd goes wild). I see Bob & Carl in a sauna, making up for past misunderstandings...

Apparently, John Kelly denies the quotes attributed to him in the book. We have direct evidence that Kelly is a liar. We have a visual and audio record of him telling a falsehood about Congresswoman Fredericka Wilson. Kelly’s word cannot be trusted.

he's doing a non-denial denial to give something for Trump to tweet and spin:
or er, maybe it's not even that, this is a good point:
a lot of the White House reporters are basically tweeting right now that he said all those things many times, it's not news, like this:
That said, whoever promised that any president's chief-of-staff was telling the truth unless under oath? Not a smart expectation to have ever.
In any case, Politico points out how long he stays remains to be seen:

you could be right that the book will not retain status for a long time as a history reference because soon there will be plenty of legal documents to look at with Bob's sources atl identified by name. And it will just be easier to pick up a book with all the names in it rather than cross referencing.

Much more important to know about than the name calling that's getting all the attention is the Mattis/Assad thing:

This popped up over at NY Times: "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration"
So much winning.

Trump's first to last guiding principle is:
1. Is it good for me, and can I get away with it?
by NCD on Wed, 09/05/2018 - 6:39pm
This is big.
eta to add from the piece:
So ... how long you reckon 'til we know who wrote it? That it was published after the Woodward book bombshell is key - it even links to the Times article about key excerpts and quotes from named officials in the book. The Times prefaced the piece by noting that they, of course, know the name and senior position within the administration of the author and that it's rare for them to publish an op-ed from an anonymous writer.
It's big.

Silence is golden for a reason. Ask any retriever.

but they were creating the whole new war room thing, where experts were paid to spin and Woodward's to deconstruct it and there was no tweeting. (I'm so old that
I used to walk to school in a snowstormsometimes I used to walk 10 blocks just to get a print WaPo to have an alternate analysis from the NYTimes....)Edit to add: Some day before he dies I hope Begala will apologize for helping create Kelly Ann Conway, however tangenitally.

I agree, it is interesting, especially on Russia, he says some young reporter like he was needs to go get the story in Russia, but that they will also probably be risking their life. It's mostly meta on journalism but that is also interesting:
