IS IT MEA CULPAS OR MEA CULPAE

Should a President admit mistakes?

Maybe if Obama could admit a mistake he would be able to turn the tables on this Republican Congress. Recently he kind of admitted a mistake, remember the "too much policy, not enough politics" gambit? Only in this case, I'm thinking too much "politics."

TIME TO MOVE ON

I can't keep myself upset 24/7 for the next two years about this upsetting election.

I think A-man nailed a couple of points, hope I represent them correctly. It's about Independents, this election and the next. The key to Independents was the economy, jobs, they didn't like the progress. There was no populist outcry against Wall St. And IMO it was the reverse of populism, cronyism by Summers, Geitner, and thus inescapably, Obama.

DARK WEDNESDAY--THE BEGINNING OF RESISTANCE AND CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

We the People declare our resistance to the fascist corporatocracy of the United States.

Benito Mussolin described Fascism as the moment when you can no longer wedge a cigarette paper between corporate and state power.

Geithner off his leash again.

Just when Democrats are getting a little traction in places like West Virginia, the walking definition of an effete banker, and apparently Obama's alter ego, is back on the air waves, this time with Charlie Rose. Worse, he's downplaying the mortgage moratoria, if that's a word.

Responsibility for Capital

Edward Bellamy in his book "Looking Backward", 1887, projected a utopia in America in the year 2000. I came across this quaint and too laborious book because my edition has an E. MCKNIGHT KAUFFER dust jacket, an illustrator I collect.

Bellamy predicted that the "responsibility for capital" in America in 2000 would be centralized--in the government. Capital has been centralized, but in the hands of a few. It strikes me that owning the "responsibility" is something different from owning the capital.
